Putting my rebuild on hold for a month and a bit as the work for my garage gets under way.

Working out costs and building regulations but plan is to take out approx. 130ft of hedge, replace that

with a nice new ranch board style fence then build a 22ft by 20ft zed garage at the back of the garden.

Trying to get it as wide as possible up to the fence but really would like to skip on the fence at the back

and just build the garage from breeze block unto the edge of the garden.

The back end of the garden only measures about 18ft but the hedges are nearly 5ft wide at the back so

we will be gaining another 5ft after they are gone.

Here's a nice pic from my camera so should be able to capture the build progress nicely.

Not to good to be honest.

Although the gutter isn't installed as yet.

Roof is water right but I have a few leaks coming in from the lower joists.

Just need to waterproof the lower joists, few ideas up my sleave.

at least you found the small leaks before you started putting in bits n bobs..good luck you will get there.

Managed to fix the leaks by using sikaflex on the lower foundation of the garage, gave the whole structure a very thick coat and i plan to do the same on the outside.

Checked it this morning and i had a small leak but i think its because i damaged the seal when i ripped the masking tape off.

Also plan to deck arround the outside of the full garage and when doing that i also plan to put a waterproof skirt on it so water just drains straight into the ground and

doesnt back flow over the concreete base.

Small update to my garage build as I've not updated the build for just under a month.

After my leak I went round the full foundation and applied a very thick coat of sikaflex - leak solved.

Also the add to the drainage solution I've installed a full guttering system at the rear of the garage and that takes all the waster water away.

Never done guttering or drainage before but it was fairly fun doing it.

The outer area of the garage is now 90% coated in golden oak ronseal which look great.

And there is just one small wall and the top panel to do to finish it off.

Inside I've also done the same colour but I'm planning on some good lighting to brighten the whole place up.

Lastly today I've started to install my workbench which is partly made out of the spare timber and some shelving

units that I acquired about a week ago.

Few design changes as I went along but came to a good design below and gave it a coat of the same paint.
