Putting my rebuild on hold for a month and a bit as the work for my garage gets under way.

 

Working out costs and building regulations but plan is to take out approx. 130ft of hedge, replace that

with a nice new ranch board style fence then build a 22ft by 20ft zed garage at the back of the garden.

 

Trying to get it as wide as possible up to the fence but really would like to skip on the fence at the back

and just build the garage from breeze block unto the edge of the garden.

 

The back end of the garden only measures about 18ft but the hedges are nearly 5ft wide at the back so

we will be gaining another 5ft after they are gone.

 

Here's a nice pic from my camera so should be able to capture the build progress nicely.

 

Internally my workbench storage units are built.

 

Looks good and strong.

18mm mdf for the worktop, went to b&q and picked up 3 huge sheets and got them to cut them in half.

 

Worked out to give me 6x 610mm tops, used two for the work area and used the others for some custom shelves.

Its taken me a day and a bit to wire up the lights and sockets then hook the main line to the house.

 

Only got two 6ft led strip lights in at the moment but I've wired the place for 6 with a switch that can

turn each row off separately.

 

Still to wire the water heater, outside sockets and also utility sockets for the likes of my compressor.

 

Lots of tedious work but it pays off and is nice and bright.

But I wanted the industrial look and would have went down the metal pipe conduit if it wasn't a pain in the arse to bend and cut.

 

The last thing I wanted was white trunking stuck all over the place.

You can get plastic conduit in black but then you would have to wire in singles but you done it now nice man cave

I don't mind seeing all the wires, long as everything is in straight lines and organised it looks great.

The work has given notice to me that they are closing down the yard as it is no longer needed.

 

My zed is complete on the exterior but I've still to rebuild the engine and interior.

 

Already started moving the mass of parts I've collected over the year since we got it back into my new garage but

I've now got so much that the zed itself wont fit as yet.

 

Got a lot of sorting out to do before the zed can be shifted and also get the ground works for the new driveway.

 

I've got until the 19th September to get the zed home and I don't have a drive to my garage yet nor space to put it in.

Wow..under pressure there :eek:....get a few tonns of hardcore down on your land as a temp measure to be at the very least able to get the car into the garage.

Oh what a shame such a great workshop and so much space.

First clue we had was when they moved the eight staff members back to the main building.

 

We used to have a technical inbound team running from that building.

Big garage workshop space looking very small now with all the spares for my build now stored there.

New driveway upto the garage getting made now :)

 

Zed will be coming home shortly.
