Putting my rebuild on hold for a month and a bit as the work for my garage gets under way.

Working out costs and building regulations but plan is to take out approx. 130ft of hedge, replace that

with a nice new ranch board style fence then build a 22ft by 20ft zed garage at the back of the garden.

Trying to get it as wide as possible up to the fence but really would like to skip on the fence at the back

and just build the garage from breeze block unto the edge of the garden.

The back end of the garden only measures about 18ft but the hedges are nearly 5ft wide at the back so

we will be gaining another 5ft after they are gone.

Here's a nice pic from my camera so should be able to capture the build progress nicely.

After the new garage is built the old hut will be dismantled and thats where the driveway will continue.

looking good there.

noce little slalom round the shed should fix your reversing skills... are you moving it to the other side?

did you not have a reinforced approach ramp put in as well, up to where the door will be?

And its all done,

Came home just after 5 to a nice smooth surface.

The side cast is coming off next week and we shall be putting in the order for the new garage in the next few days.

Its now a race between my zed getting done and the garage getting done.

Two projects side by side to compliment each other.

Yea I've always fancied rubber/plastic tiles, I'm doing a garage soon so looked into them, I think it'd be about £400ish for a garage that size

Was gonna say alana works in costco and they do a garage floor system thing for the floor but just seen its sealer and paint your looking for lol

Cheers anyways,

Its cost me a small fortune to get this built so far so dont have any extra funds to do anything but paint it.

Its perfectly smooth so a good red garage paint will make it look great.

Definitely don't PVA the floor before you paint. When I did my friends workshop I swept really thoroughly then thinned the paint about 60/40 with white spirit as a base coat. This penetrated really well and was finished with two proper coats and the floor has lasted remarkably well. We previously did the car port using the manufacturers instructions of around 20% white spirit and it's trashed now, just peels up where the tyres have driven

Now that you are stood in it, you get a better sense of its size, going to be a great mancave

Hate to bear bad news but the 1st coat should of been thinned 50/50...also mate the more coats (thicker paint) you give it the less resistance it has to stop chipping and flaking off. with this type of floor paint less is more.....
