I was lucky that I didn't need to sell anything to buy my house - I feel for you dude, I'd be distraught if I had to get rid of my Z! The car's become almost a 'friend' to me over the years and I can't imagine not having it!

You gotta do what you gotta do, as Gaz said bricks and life. I was lucky enough to keep mine and I do mean lucky, it was a case of timing a few weeks either way and it was going to range from the sale falling through, me flogging the zed for peanuts for a quick sale or it all working out. Fortunately it worked out. Stressful times though counting every penny, I now officially hate beans on jacket potatoe, there's only so many combinations of beans you can take after 18 months. :lol:

Haha! I must confess sometimes we ate chilli too, living the dream. :lol: No matter how poor I get I'm never drinking Asda Ecconomy orange squash again, I'd rather just drink plain water, it's grim.

Is it really worth selling though? Even if you get 10K for the car that's not a huge contribution for a house. Most of the money I should be saving for a mortgage is going to my car, but when I have to get serious about it I'm thinking more along the lines of storage for a few years.

If he's looking at spending 150k-200k, 10k is half the deposit. Plus if you haven't got a car that requires a space or storage to keep you don't need as bigger house etc. A lot of flats and houses come with just one parking space these days remember.
