So four nights ago someone tried to steal the Z. My own fault really as she has no security whatsoever. Just locked.

I live in a decent area and have owned classics before without any security.

Thankfully the *******s only got as far as the car park across the road and scarpered before hotwiring it.

I lost my job back in Feb due to redundancies, the year hasn't been all sunshine and rainbows. I'd love to get some security. I've been quoted £350 for alarm and immobilizer installment. £180 for just an immobilizer. I may have to go with the physical stuff for the time being, until I'm back in work.

What would you guys recommend i could do, on a budge to protect my girl?

TBH, if you're broke and want to disable the car, just pull the fuel pump relay.....or take all the green relays out, so they can't swap them over.

I find the steering wheel disclock decent. I used to live in the Cefn Glas ghetto when I had my black one and no one had a go at that.

snap of steering wheel i had one in the lotus elise i had. lets face it if you was going to rob a car would you rob one with no steering wheel ?

True words I forgot all about the snap on wheel I had back in the day with my XR2i! I used to pull up at the Uni car park and take my wheel into lectures with me....No one took the piss though because I would just threaten to wrap the wheel around their head

Thanks guys, i guess in a pinch i can pull fuses.

I will get myself a steering wheel lock of some description to.

We used to use these guys for customers cars and a great job quickly and affordable, from memory around £250 + vat inc remote locking and interior sense, anti hijack and panic, good systems, if you speak to Raff at the Birmingham branch mention me and Zedworld will give you a good price.

Ps, if your really need to count the pennies and you do not need a Thatcham certificate for your insurance there are some cracking alarms on ebay with lots of features for under fifty quid !!

Trouble with pulling fuses it's not a visible deterrent for a low life, they'll just break in and then make a further mess trying to get it going....like whats just happened sadly.

Not sure if you use daily but having a pod off exposing some wiring.............looking like your undertaking some work might make them leave it alone, the cluster cowl just lifts off for example (well two screws!).

I have a flashing blue led for the immobilizer and a red one for the alarm - perhaps look into buying some dummies, just wire them in and position anywhere so they stay on 24/7.

remove the wheel. you can see it rite away. you wouldnt even touch the car once you seen that

GPS tracker with Remote fuel cut off, mine cost 80 pounds, all sorts of functions, cant reccomend it enough, google N 106 Tracker
