Hey I recently bought a slicktop 300zx i payed $1900 for it and I heard they where rare the nico forums says that 2539 where sold does anyone have a clue how many where sold I want a second opinion also how do you remove tint from a window without ruining the defrost

No idea on the figures but if you want to remove tinting film then a hair dryer or heat gun will soften it up enough to peel off. Start in a corner.

Welcome to the club slicktop300zx and not sure how many slicktops were made but on the film use a hairdryer to peel it of.

Even with hair drier it can still pull parts of the heated rear window off depending how long it's been on for .

They were the Base model in Japan and weren't very common as the SWB with the Targas wasn't much more expensive.

3000 seems a reasonable production figure. I'm a slicktop owner and after chatting with another slicktop owner a few years back we reckon there are probably about 20 slicktops in the UK.

I did see that before but didn't really pay attention to it as it seemed so inaccurate.

Particularly with the imports, depends what they are registered as, my slicktop is a 2+2 according to the dvla, and my old na was a nissan "unknown" lol.

 

Would like to know what we have maybe I'll start a poll to see what we have in the club.

Not sure whether they include Sorned cars either. There will be loads sorned at this time of the year

It does have a graph of sorned cars vs taxed. They all seem to show more sorned than roadworthy. My car was taxed/MOT'd for the first time in three years last friday! woop woop so that's one more Z actually being used

There's thousands of them out there in various guises I recon there's more in bits or long term storage than actually being used though. There's about 10-15 in East Dorset/West Hants that I know of alone.
