OK guys a simple poll to gauge interest in this years JAE show. The feed back from last year was not great from some members and now the entry prices have gone up from £30 to £45 on advanced tickets and £60 at the gate. No Saturday entry price you still pay £45 (or £60 at the gate)

Please post up your thoughts also and this will let the club know where we stand and what the members want to do.

Thanks Guys.

I voted yes to this as I enjoyed it last year. Don't get me wrong it could have been better organised but it was a great opportunity to meet some fellow members and have a laugh.

In terms of the location, there isn't a single place in the country that everybody would be happy with. Take the recent moans about the Japfest move as an example. I do however still think it is important for the club to have a presence at the big events like this.

Our stand wasn't the best last year by a long way but people still gathered round and praised our cars.... They attracted alot of attention:)

Zclub did the last tour of Ireland a good few years ago.

Well with the state of our roads it's no wonder they haven't been back!

I think they ended pushing Steve's Z back on the ferry lol

Yep that was true

On the last day we were traveling back from N Ireland to Dublin through one of the worst rain storms that Ireland had seen for years

Water sucked up into KN filter and had to fly my mrs home and come back with Paul Wrangle letting the AA bring the car back

If you guys want a road trip Ireland was fantastic

If you do decide ask Tulip to arrange a route for you with some great hotels to stay in on the way

Fantastic trip was well worth doing

I have been to every JAE since 2008 but I will not be going this year. I remember taking the whole family and all the camping gear in the Zed to Mersea Island. We camped then even though I don't really enjoy it, so I was really pleased when to moved to Wicksteed Park which is only a few miles from me so I didn't have to camp. The last few years there has seen a marked drop in the number of people attending in general. The move to Newark meant I only went for the day and I was completely underwhelmed with the event. That said I enjoyed meeting everyone on our stand, chatting and helping Mondo with his tent in the pouring rain ! The food was also great.

Why am I not going ? For me there was nothing of interest off our stand and the price increase was the final straw.

I am certainly up for an Irish road trip though, that sounds like a great idea.

Oh and even had a lunch in a pub called Muddy Burns

Good times Steve

I've said yes as I'm always there every year and I think I've been to most since circ 2006.

I've got to be honest though, i tought the price was a little high in 2015 and increase it by 50% and robbing people with admin charges when an auto email is sent for the tickets just all feels a little on the steep side. Talking around £95 for me and Neen.

I'll decide nearer the time but I certainly wouldn't pay the on the door price.

Are they justifying the increase some how?

It's a no from me.....

OK, I might be on holiday at the time - but even if I wasn't, it is with regret that I'd still probably not go. I would only pop along for the Saturday - to meet up with everyone I have gotten to know over the years and to do my bit for the club. However with the vastly increased entry price, coupled with having to pay for the whole weekend even for just a day, it's just not worth it to stand around in a field for a few hours!

Give me the type of show like Beaulieu and I'd be there; it does not matter so much about the admission charge, it's just a much better event to be part of!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I havnt been for two years because i had to work, enjoyed it all the times before. So cant say if i will be or not. That said its a lot of money for two nights camping, so if someone came up with a better club meet i'd do that instead

Ireland road trip

Genuinely couldn't have done it without you, Mark!! Helluva way to meet someone for the first time...!

I'm getting the feeling that JAE as an entity is starting to pass it's "use by" date. The whole event didn't especially feel like an "extravaganza" and, as Bird said, it'd be just shy of £100 for Fran and I to go this year. And she hates me leaving her at home, even though she's hardly into the car scene at all...

This Irish road-trip though... it seems like that idea has some serious legs now... :thumbup1:

I will not be attending this, much like Si it's just not my bag.

A well attended Zed meet however would be where I would want to be. I liked the Coventry idea with maybe a dedicated area to be able to chat and get to know faces and access to accommodation.

Si, my missus is a Travel Agent, could see if she could organise a group trip if we had no's, she could organise Hotels etc or as stated earlier, there's always the parents garden if you fancied camping:biggrin:

Sadly I have voted no. JAE has always been a favorite of mine but it has now lost its appeal and with members not enjoying it and the new location falling short of Wicksteed Park plus now the price increase :surrender:

We need something better guys.

I know that we, as owners and lovers of these cars, want to try and increase the profile and popularity of them, but perhaps one huge Z32-specific meet/show is the way forward here after all...?

I was gutted that I couldn't make it to Coventry for the 25th Anniversary bash, so something along those lines would suit me down to the ground. :)

Or a camping experience in Richie's parent's garden with loads of other owners! That'd work too! :D

I've a friend who has a farm across the road from the parents house, again automatic gate and cameras, he has industrial units up the back of the field, a proper concrete road up to it, we could make it a yearly Z32 event!!

Problem is that would mean the 300zx.co.uk yearly meet would not actually be held in the UK haha

I'd go though

I wood be up for a yearly meet like the coventry one really good day even with the rain we had a lot of people ask about the cars and take photos that sort of publicity can only be a plus for the z32 but we wood need a lot of notice before hand to take time off work and get the cars done and on the rd

Ive voted No!

Some years ago! 10 or 12 ?

I remember attending a big event near Northampton.

At an aerodrome or the like & stayed the night at a premier lodge.

Was that a JAE event?

That seemed a great location, any one remember that?

Probably JAE - Billing Aerodrome.

Probably JAE - Billing Aerodrome.

Shame that it outgrew the place but there again the shower blocks and toilets needed some improvement but it was good while it lasted there
