Cheers mate just added a new one to my favourites

If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear. :gunsmilie:

Except your liberty and freedom...

All they are really proposing is to have the same abilities with your internet as your phone. It needs properly looking at and proper laws put in place and for it to be used with intelligent descresion. We certainly don't want to see if transcending into a knock on the door every time a teenager types in "how to make a bomb" into Google.

I agree - other than minor speeding offences, that's the only thing I've ever really done wrong! I don't mind, as long as they don't catch sight of my tiny pecker, they watch all they want!

well said

I dont like the way things are heading,i already have to clock out at work with my fingerprint!!

its its to much. the old if you have nothing to hide thing is a bit of a cop out

We are slowly being eroded down bit by bit, until it ends up like minority report

indeed it will

I tend to agree with that too. Not to mention, successive governments have also probably been doing it for years anyway; so in reality nothing will change.......

.....However it is scary just how much data is stored on each and every one of us - and it only takes a little of that data to get into the wrong hands......:shifty:

I also do not approve of the constant surveillance we are all apparently under. Whether or not you have anything to hide pales into insignificance when it comes to protecting your right to privacy. Again, you may have nothing to hide, but you cannot guarantee someone somewhere will not use it for no good purposes....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

It is too far, They dont need to store a whole years worth of stuff (although mine consists of only 300zx.co.uk, and google searches for "my 300zx is broken"!), surely the money needed to store all that data could be better spent on the NHS or the police or poor people or education or anything else this cirrent government has destroyed/about to destroy...

1990 Black MT NA LWB = 2014 - 2020 (Sold)

1991 Red MT TT LWB = 2015 - 2017 (Stripped & Scrapped)

1991 Red MT TT LWB = 2017 - 2021 (Sold)

1991 Black MT TT LWB = 2018 - 2021 (Sold)

1989 Red AT TT LWB = 2021 - XXXX (Kept)

I'm slightly less concerned about your history being stored, that is basically done already, they are just making it legal. What concerns me more is about how and where that data is stored, who has access to it, how it is protected from all the inventive hackers out there, who controls access to the information, how it is encrypted, who approves access to it, how it is deleted/destroyed once it is no longer needed etc.

its a step to far, to much control to many wanting to know your biz, if every one just worried about what there doing and not what every one else is doing the better it would be, to many nosy people about now days

So they already have the power to seize your phone your computer etc with the right court order based on reasonable suspicison. The laws regarding this are just as tight, a court order is required with reasonable suspicison. Why do they need it? They already have the power to get the result they require. This is a new tool, the question is why. The only reason I can think is so they can monitor people without suspicison being raised, ie they have to have less invested to act. It's less risky for them if they are wrong.

I'm not apposed to it per say actually. What I'm apposed to is jumping in with these ideas without proper legislation to begin with. When things are rushed it leaves them open to abuse through loop holes or to be extended without proper consent getting out of hand. If it's we have reason to suspect, good reason not just we think, this guys a paedo/terrorist and want to search their internet history to prove it then crack on. Catch the ****er! If however it's we've brought you in cod you look funny and we want to check your internet history, because well you look funny. Then **** off. Proper evidence warrants evidence not little hunches I'm afraid.

What hacks me off is this archaic law they are using based around anti dueling laws to convict people of murder because they didn't stop it happening in effect. I've forgotten what's it's called, it's going through the reviews at present because it's convicting too many otherwise innocent people.

Just dont worry about it Ladies and Gents...Theres too many of us crammed on this tiny Island to have any importance now,its like trying to count a bucket of moving rats..it has no meaning anymore being individual.

the issue is most people in the uk just do as there told and wont stand up to stuff like this like many things we just put are blinkers on bend over and take it hard

I just think there are more important things to worry about. I'm not doing anything wrong, why should I care that there is a CCTV camera looking at me or checking out what webpage I'm looking at. It really doesn't bother me one iota. The only thing that does worry me as AndyP has alluded to is the security of our own online data from hackers etc.

there you go then it effects us all in some way security of our own online data from hackers etc

It doesn't have much to do with surveillance, other than the fact that we need more secure online surveillance.
