After having LED lights on some external aspects I've decided to go back to incandescent bulbs. I'll keep my remaining interior LEDs...I think and certainly I'll be getting Groover to install them all in my dash and pods.

However, I find that the blue hue emitted from 'super white' conventional LED replacement blubs such as the 501 bulbs found in the sidelights and number plate illumination looks decidedly 'boyracer-ish'. I'm also removing the 6000k HIDs I fitted about 6 years ago and replacing them with 4300k - again (in my brand new headlights), MUCH less of a blue hue and should give better light output, much whiter and shouldn't clash too much with the regular incandescent sidelight bulbs.

I was having a conversation with JoelyP the other day and he's removed his LED number plate light illumination and reverted back to incandescent bulbs where white illumination is present. Now gone is the slightly chavy blue-hue illumination reminiscent of undercar neons! lol

Anyone else moving away from external white LED bulbs?

I had bright WHITE Led bulbls in my sidelights for agaes

I well as the dipped circuit also put HIDS in the main beam and fogs and they worked absolutely brilliantly

Why on earth did you bother putting HIDs in the fog lights?

Why on earth did you bother putting HIDs in the fog lights? [emoji38]

Because they are so much better than standard and they are low enough to light the tarmac in the worst conditions

Every single LED now removed and boy is it nicer! I've reverted back to incandescent dash clock bulbs and not only does the dimmer now work again, but the clocks are much nicer on the eye at night, a much softer and more evenly spread light. Gone too are the aluminium dial surrounds and it's back to looking how it would have done, some might say that's too plain, but to be honest, it's less fussy and looks a little cleaner.

Gotta disagree with you there Si. I believe you had the wrong kind of the LED's installed in you dash. Dimmer should work as normal and there has to be no black spots when the correct bulbs are installed. In my opinion the LED's update the looks of the dash and interior quite significantly. Dimmer only controls light output on the clocks. ;)

If you tap the light feed for the pod gauges into the clock lights then the dimmer can be utilized on the pod gauges too

There's a lot of winking going on here! [emoji6]

Is there,from who?;)
