Today's work on the car took an unexpected diversion when one injector died and another was reading 100 ohms!.

So I popped my plenum pull cherry! You get to the point of thinking what the hell have I done!

Now just reading up on the coolant bypass to make it easier next time, and trying to get all the bits ordered I need.

Delete your EGR if you haven't already, while you are there too that will make next time easier. Infact all that garbage AIV etc will make your life progressively easier.

I was looking at the egr delete too, is it OK to cut the pipes and blank the holes? To remove everything is an engine out job right?

I used the Dremel method to change a failed injector last December.

Only because I didn't fancy taking off the plenum!

You CAN by all accounts remove it in situee, I did mine out the car which took minutes. It's reportedly a lot easier to do with the plenum off. Have a little look see how you feel.

Many do choose to cut and cap the lines. It's far neater to do the job properly though. Zcentre do a neat little delete kit. Jimmer sorted me out with a kit, which was great. He might have more available not sure.

I've just bought a egr delete kit from z centre along with the plenum gasket. I've previously changed 3 injectors using the dremel method, but with 2 injectors down, I thought I would bite the bullet and go for the plenum pull.

I haven't looked under the car yet to check, but as I have a full exhaust system from downpipes back with no cats, will the Egr even be connected any more?

Yes, one vac and the two pipes to the front underside of the plenum, then two bolts to remove the valve itself

Krikey Ive just managed to feel my way to the exhaut point, there's no way you can get to that with the engine In place is there?

Juts taken the battery out and I can see it, but still cant see it coming out in situ

The pipe only sits inside the nut, so not that long, but removing the pass water pipe would make it easier to get the valve out.

In fairness i too have only done the bypass/removal with the engine out, also on an NA so a TT with the engine in situe, there isnt a lot of room lol

For me it's right there, accessible but that's mostly because I have no aircon. If you cut the egr close enough could you get a socket on it you recon with a UJ and an extension. It's probably very well in there. Mine had actually rusted itself loose causing an exhaust leak.

On to the next problem for now... I have one pipe that isn't accounted for, I can't seem to find any mention of it in tutorials? d70f4bf2682b0c8b768c59b984b35785.jpg

It runs the length of the back of the engine and into here. Is it right that this is left unused after the upper plenum bypass? Doesn't seem right to me. 95b9dff045e64bc7dce228cd05df5ed6.jpg

I really appreciate all your help so far!

I think I've been a massive idiot. It's the pcv valve outlet. Ignore me! :)

There won't be much left of this engine bay soon... Just went to do the Aiv delete, and someone has kindly done it for me but left the solenoid in the engine bay.

Not wanting to disappoint myself, I removed the PRVR.

Hi mate, the electrical plug that came off that cruise control actuator, can you trace the harness back to the other end? If so, can I buy it off you?

How much of a pigtail do you need Joel? Mines sat there redundant.

Where did you get those from?

If it's a short pig tail I'm happy to provide you with it but I don't really want to hack my loom to bits. Not right now anyway.
