April 3, 201511 yr Today's work on the car took an unexpected diversion when one injector died and another was reading 100 ohms!. So I popped my plenum pull cherry! You get to the point of thinking what the hell have I done! Now just reading up on the coolant bypass to make it easier next time, and trying to get all the bits ordered I need.
April 4, 201511 yr Author The cruise control wires dissappear in to the wheel arch by the looks of it? I wouldn't know where they connect. I got the Injector connectors from eBay America. I think it was Yugo Bernie? He seems to be a well known figure on the American forums from searching posts. Worked out at £28 to my door
April 4, 201511 yr Author This was the state of the injectors, and the connectors were as bad, it's no wonder you end up with issues.
April 4, 201511 yr Be as careful as possible with the loom, my car now needs a new one since my mechanic has done a plenum pull to correct some water pipe issues, do a bypass and EGR delete. Seems part/s of the loom have broken and now it won't start at all, it was running really well before hand. He did say the injector connections were in a real bad way though, covered in green corrosion just like yours. I'm not too fussed though, because its forced the issue and brought something I had intended to do forward which I might never have got round to and I reckon its probably one of the best investments for continued reliability. April 12, 201511 yr Author An injector change turned into: Plenum pull, Two replaced injectors Plenum water bypass Egr delete Aiv solenoid removal (a previous owner had kindly removed half of it already) PRVR delete Cruise control removed Injector connectors replaced So it's all back together, as is typical with me, i had a track day on Saturday, and got the engine assembled at 11 pm on Friday night! Apart from a misfire from a loose coil pack connection, the car performed perfectly. Was a little miffed that some parts hadnt arrived, so we had to make some EGR blanking plates up, and reuse the plenum gasket, use some fuel hose for water pipe. Overall, very happy. Thanks all for your help throughout the plenum pull!
