Like buses, 3 came along all at once! A new chip from Noel, some bits that JoelyP managed to rescure from MJP for me and finally a nice big package from Z1 arrived today.

I have been running solid Midori style suspension components from Powertrix for the last 8 or 9 years and they're just too harsh for me, they've also caused a lot of my standard bushes to deteriorate at quite a rate of knots, so I've decided to rebuild everything. One of my current KYB front shocks seem to have shat its pants and wrecked one of the rubber strut top mount bushings, so I'm just going to replace EVERYTHING.

No more solid joints! YAY! All the bushings on the rear knuckles are to be replaced, front lower arm, tension rods, the lot. I hope it'll feel more like the GT Street Car it was designed as rather than a crashy tack car.

My study is now filling up with car parts quickly! Should feel better for it this summer!

Here's an old bush compared to a new one. Granted, the old bush would have retained an amount of its compressed memory, but it's as hard as nails. This wasn't from my car, I want to pull those off ASAP to find out why one of them has completely failed.

Ooooh, you've some nice bits there Si. Are you going to leave the shocks red or paint them?

I fancy the z1 upper suspension arms, do you recommend them over other non OEM replacement parts?

You'll have to take some pictures with your new set-up once completed mate.

Not leaving them red. They'll either get powdercoated black or painted black. Red on the underside of my car would look awful if you were unfortunate enough to catch a glimpse through the wheel!

The Z1 FUCAs are about the same price as stock new upper arms believe it or not. You could opt for the NISMO bushes to be pressed in to your existing links. I wouldn't want PU or solid joints on the rear of the car as that's where NVH is most sensitive. Having these joints at the front will mean that they'll pretty much be maintenance free and more forgiving. Not as soft as stock, but not firm either.

I will NEVER be fitting solid mounts/bushings ever again. :)

Nice stuff mate. Ive got a new set of kyb to fit along with a pair of new rear knuckles and bushes etc. I've also got polybushes to fit but am having second thoughts. Car has Zeal coilovers- look the part but rock hard on softest setting. Not good.

Your car will feel really new and planted with that lot

The current KYBs have actually been pretty good to be honest. I've liked the handling, just not the 'ride' and comfort if that makes much sense. The Tein springs I've always been happy with. PU is ok, but for personal preference, I'm going ALL rubber at the rear (my word - that sounds like a homo sexual porno movie..).

Unless your car is going on the track, I'd personally advise against solid bushings....unless you're on first name terms with your chiropractor.

Glad you're not leaving them red, I was almost certain you wouldn't but thought I'd check.

Thanks for the advice on the upper arms reference the price; I need to replace both on my car and was looking at OEM but this now looks to be a better option. Cheers bud!
