I've been looking for one aswel. Been watching Car Crash TV on channel 5. They seem like a very handy thing to have but like you say there's too many to choose from.

There's a few reviews knocking about. I think it'll be worth spending a little extra on them, I'm worried all these cheapy £30 ebay cams will be terrible quality.

My insurance co offered me a £40 discount if I took a dashcam. I declined as I dont want my exquisite road manners to be viewed by anyone!

Joel just wants to record plane crashes and people falling off mopeds. :wack:

Actually he told me he was going to mount it on the rear quarter to check out "da babes"

I have an SJ4000 cam from eBay, paid £56 + free postage. They pretty good for the money and quality is ok, not as good as a Go-Pro, but you get what you pay for. Have a look on Utube for comparisons with SJ4000 and Go-Pro cams. There plenty on eBay, ranging from £50 up to £120, all the same model and spec.

Hi,

Just to let you know that a number of our insurance schemes do offer discounts for a range of in-car cameras.

Regards,

Dan.

I take it these companies specify what cameras have to be fitted? I'm not sure it's something I would want to commit to for insurance discounts, but it would be handy to know what types are approved and why?

Hi,

Full details can be found here.

Kind regards

Dan
