Alright guys and gals. Finally got a z32. 1991. Twin turbo manual. Very happy. It does however look a bit tired on the paint but nothing I can't sort there. Done 90000. Mechanically it's great. No smoke. Boost needle where it should be. Sounds great. New timing belt. Very happy. However. What are the tell tail signs the clutch is going?

Pictures later date as I don't know how to put them on as I am on my phone aha

Wow! You haven't messed about have you! Well done:)

What makes you think the clutch is going? Are you getting some slip?

Normally a clutch that is ready for changing will start to slip under heavy load. Under normal conditions the clutch will hold, but when you boot it, say in 3rd gear, if the engine revs suddenly shoot up with no real speed/acceleration increase that is clutch slip and indicates worn clutch friction plates.

The paint is a little tired. But other than that and the pants attempt to tint the rear window I am happy aha

Have you got the front wheels to match the rear? Looks like you have a set of R33 GTR Skyline Brembos fitted too.

Hawk eyes! I recon that cars been drifted, some unusual mods.

I saw that car on gumtree was not that far from me but im holding out for black one

Nah I don't have the matching wheels for the back mate. Gonna get some though. Yeah they are brembo but not sure if it's off a skyline.

Needs tracking and wheels balancing

also leaving work had to accelerate quite hard then when I put the clutch down straight after it cut out. Started back up like and was fine.. what could that be?

I like the back wheels what make are they?

Has is got BOVs by any chance?

Looking at it no. But when at high rpm and change gear it does make the sound a BOV does

It could be a number of possible issues. As you've only just purchased the car, I would start with a good service, plug it in and make sure there are no current faults and that the idle setup is correct. Then carry out a boost leak test to ensure the labyrinth of 25 year of vacuum/boost pipework are nicely air tight.

In fact, it probably makes more sense to do the boost leak check first!

Yeah no worries mate. There is a zx specialist in Doncaster where I am so I gonna see what they say.

With the idle. It idles around 900rpm. Feels smooth but you can feel a slight motion. I thought it could be spark plug
