hello! just picked up a 1990 JDM 300zx manual targa top N/A about 2 months ago, just thought id sign up to the forum as I like being on forums for cars I own so I can learn about them and any tips etc, this is actually the first car ive owned, been driving for nearly 4 years in my first car my Honda civic 1.4. do like my Hondas, but wanted something with a bit more torque lol and rear wheel drive.

not planning on doing much to it tbh, looking at getting the body work fixed up (luckily no rust because its an import) and a few other things.

The oem alloys on the 300zx are directional. They flow air onto the brakes to help cooling which means the left hand side are built different to the right hand side.

So your near side(passenger side) wheels should look like this.

And your off side (drivers side) like this

cool that's good to know! will get them switched round then.

 

Make sure that your tires are also facing the correct way if they are directional and welcome to the club :)

it seems only that one is facing the wrong way...

 

could you help me or point me in the right direction for a few of these problems. boot lock wont turn with the key, seems stuck but can open with release catch?

 

fog light bulb is out and not sure which type to get as it looks like some sort of Japanese bulb I've never seen before?

 

I think this is a common problem the reverse lights don't seem to work?

foglight is a h3, but has like round connector and not the spade type?

dipped beam is a h3 with spade connector and fog light is also h3 but with a bullet connector? definitely not h3c
