BOV Query

The BOv's in question are Apexi Twin Chamber.

Been thinking about my BOVs as I get stalling issues after being on Boost and dumping the clutch. Pretty sure it's cos of the BOV's.

O was looking back through some really old posts and found people saying the adjustment screw show be at around 5 - 5mm. The first question I have is whether its 4mm out of the end of the BOV or 4mm out of the nut that goes on the end (which I don't have).

Just wondering what ya's think. I have toyed with the idea of getting rid in the past but then decided to keep as I do like the sound lol.

They need to be adjusted to the point that stalling does not occur. That is all that matters :)

If they subsequently don't dump the pressure & make the noises you want, then it's a simple choice of either noise or stall.

Remember, when the engine stalls because of unmetered air, it is because the cylinders are briefly flooded with fuel. Every single time. That fuel has to go somewhere....

So if its stalling due to that, is it that I'd need to loosen the screws or tighten them

i see a few people on here seem to have problems with stall after fitting dump valves. I fitted some hks sequential bovs and there is no stall I know they are a little different that a normal bov I have noise a no stall

These are sequential ones too. It's just the getting the set up right with them I believe. Had them on for years but I rarely drive on boost to be honest

its all a bit of fun I wouldn't have them on the car if I used it every day but whole idea of the car is to get it out when I can a spank it every were for a hour or so and that it bring it back home and that's all its for nothing else atall

Mine has quite a few noises really. Has the BOV's, screamer pipes and external waste gates.

So does anyone know the approx position for this screw? Don't wanna give it half a turn, drive it to check, half a turn and so on. Just a bit of a guide please

Fit a standalone ECU that does away with the MAF sensor.

Ahh, they have those 3 bolt down pipes don't they. So your cars externally gated and these dump to atmosphere, as screamers? Bet that sounds like a jet engine on full chat.

Does sound good. Got the veilside exhaust, the Screamer pipes, the BOV's and then the waste gate chatter too.

Which bit sorry? No either way like.

The bovs are hidden in the front bumper. Screamers and waste gates are just next to the turbos

You can only just see the screamer pipes but shows the external waste gates. Old photos as it now has pentroof type manifolds:

If I went back to recircs, how much should I pay for a set? I'm hissing I might need some associated pipework.

Are there many aftermarket options out there?

2 options.

Firstly, get the BDE kit for the standard recircs.

Secondly, get aftermarket ones. Baileys manufacture a recirc called the DV30. A pair of those should be suitable.

Dump valves are as utterly pointless as the *BeeR* kit, I would absolutely recommend going back to fit that which works with the car the best rather than pointless dump valves.

:)

Replied in my PM anyway Lee.
