Driving along a tight single lane road this morning (as I do every morning) I was confronted by an over-sized truck coming the other way, in the darkness of the tree canopy, with no lights on.... Sure enough, it's a pain in the arse itself - as the truck was clearly too big to use this road (signs at either end) - but at least he was driving considerately and pulled to the side in effort to let me pass.

However, there was no way I'd have passed without scraping the side of my car against the bushes to my left - so not an option for me!

Instead, remembering there was a driveway a few yards back, I reversed toward it. Only to find out the hard way, that the f***ing c**ts who live in the house had placed 2 boulders in their drive. It was dark, the boulders were below the scope of my parking sensors so I only realised they were there when I felt the crunch - and ended up scraping the rear bumper of my new SLK. Why do that - FFS, you live on a single lane stretch of road; it's bleeding obvious that your drive will have to be used as a passing bay sometimes so why be such c***s about it:mad:

And before anyone says, "at least it wasn't your Z" well, as the lesser of two evils, I'd rather it had been; that's 20 years old so the odd scuff repair is acceptable now!! But ideally, it should not have happened at all - these fookers need to be shown the error of their ways.....:death:

Not good mate. I did something similiar the other day but it was a tree trunk. Didn't see that somebody had buried it and reversed in to. Luckily it didn't really do any damage but I nearly bit my tongue off with the sudden stop...

Did the same myself in the BMW with a lamp post.. feckin stupid place to put a lamp post..

wasnt my fault.. kept my mouth shut and blamed the missus a couple of weeks later.. :devil2:

Haha, many years ago my brother parked up in a secluded spot with his girlfriend, but had reversed over a tree stump.

When the coppers came round to see what they were up to, and move them on, they had to tow him off the stump first, lol.

It's because the saddo's that live in the house mate are always moaning about people backing up on their driveway cos they have nothing going on inside of their house or their heads, it's because no-one seems want to live and let live, the other half dented her fiat 500 the second day she had it due to a traffic cone filled with concrete.

I did the same in the van, someone had cut a branch and left it proud of the hedge, smashed the rear light in the dark as I have no rear view. Had to buy a new one and it had to come from the main dealer as the van was brand new and they were a specific shape light. Grrr.

Paul's right though, people with nothing better to do than obsess over people pulling into their boundaries. Theresca guy not far from here that has a camera and a sign that says 2 point turn £3 3 point turn £5, NO TURNING! My my gf nan lives a guy jumped out at here thee other week screaming that the speed limit is 10mph, which is what she doing crazy ****, if she had been going 11moh he would of got run over.

Yep, plenty of sad tits about!

See it all the time on my job, people often trying to reserve small sections of side street outside there houses with cones or signs on the windows.

They forget the road belongs to the council and if you pay road tax you can legally park there.

I blame the Boswells

Only yesterday i watched as a HGV turned very unsurely to go up the road where my parents live, this is fine not a problem but i knew what was going to happen as i discussed with my wife as we proceeded to follow, about 400 yards further on there's a road and at the end of it is a sign 'unsuitable for HGV's', so where did he turn straight down this road with residents parking either side at the terraced homes.

There's a sign at the end of this road for a reason, HGV's should go a little further around and it will take them approx 2 or 3 mins longer but gps will probably re route down this unsuitable road which they know damn well they shouldn't turn down as it can lead them into difficulty.

Feel for you Richard .

Nooo not the SLK Rich:no: Sorry to hear this mate and hope it is not to bad.

'Fraid so mate...

It's not too bad - about 4 scuff lines in the underside section of the rear bumper just behind the wheel. You can't see it when looking at the car from "normal" height, but you can from wheel level; plus I know it's there..... I have got a good smart repairer on the case though, it's an easy section to mask off and re-touch owing to the contours of the bumper. £75 for cash, being done Saturday.....

Whats wrong with these retards who put boulders outside there houses:mad:...is it some kind of tribal sign to tell the world "this is my patch". Hope the pain soon clears Richard after repairs:wink:

£75! That seems mighty cheap.

It's a "smart" repair as opposed to a full panel respray - he's just painting a small area approx. 20x10cms. And he's very local to me - no call out fee as I'll drop it at his house Saturday morning....

Exactly mate.....

They have one either side of the entrance. Now someone fit and strong could just about shift them further back - and into the centre of their drive (effectively blocking their entry); whereas someone quite old-ish (like the owners may well be, given the impression I get from looking at the house) would not have the strength... I would guess.....

No boulder for me, but I had a similar incident with those fold down balards. I guess they were for residential parking, stop people stealing your parking bay. Even when folded in the up potition they're only small. The one I reversed into was grey, about 1/2 menter in height. and it was a poorly lit street. I had seen them when I parked up (not in somones bay), was sure they were all down, obiosuly not... I wanted a bag of chips badly...otherwise wouldn't have even been parking in that street.

Glad its not to bad Rich but its not what you need on a new car.

Sorry to here about this rich, but funny you should mention about people not liking you to use there driveways as passing points, this is what they do in my kneck of the woods to stop you doing it (see photos)....and this is a very narrow lane, bare in mind my Mercedes is really wide and you have to keep right to the hedge so people can pass, two or three driveways put cones out:(

^^^****ers! :2guns:

I agree mate - these people are in need of a little lesson methinks.....:shifty:

Perhaps the usual pliers and blowtorch are a little harsh, but I'm sure I could find somewhere else to shove those traffic cones...
