Bought myself what I thought was a reasonable manual n/a Zed that needed a little tidying.

Was pretty standard when I bought it, had a few little rust bubbles just coming through here and there but nothing serious and easily sortable.

Straight away I went out and bought a set of staggered 18" alloys as other originals just look too small, this I when I noticed something wasn't right.

When turning, the drivers side tyre was rubbing the arch liner, didn't think much of it at first as had this issue on my first Zed and it was caused by the arch liner not fitted correctly.

After investigating a couple of weeks ago, I found that liner was fine and that the wheel was sitting too far back in the arch, didn't have time to investigate further until today.

I thought (hoped) that it was a bent wishbone/lower arm but after a few measurement and a proper look, it has turned out to be the worst out come.... Bent chassis

I'm going to keep driving it at the moment as i have no choice (daily driver) and get in contact with the previous owner about selling me a dangerous vehicle and see what options I have.

Not happy to say the least!!

Why oh why did I sell my black TT!?

Sorry to hear that mate - but as said, hopefully it might be an easy fix. Check out the options before you get too despondent over it; good luck buddy....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Out of interest, is a bent chassis an mot failure?

Not a failure in itself so long as it's still sound and strong and not likely to fail in anyway, all attached suspension points must be good and strong too, tyres fouling on lock is a failure but with stock wheels and tyres it probably didn't rub on lock anyway, sorry to hear your bad luck pal.

Cheers Russ. I'm guessing fbh stands for ****ing big hammers? :) don't think that will help as it looks all caved in rather than bent.

I will still pop up in it at some point though for that coffee, just let me know when your available mate.

I'm off work Thursday if your about? or Sunday after 4pm???

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Happy Birthday for Monday then Dave...... lol

You taking the Z on your getaway????

Cheers mate.

Not sure about taking the Zed yet, it does drive fine and like I said the engine and box run like a dream.

Although I know my missus is as bit worried about being in it now so will probably be taking her car now, which is nice for me as I'm not insured on hers which means she has to drive :)

Every cloud and all that mate!! Have a good birthday on monday

Depending on what the body shop say and quotes, if its not financially viable then I may rat it up a bit for the last bit of its life before breaking.

I do prefer a well presented tidy zed but i have always quite liked the look of......

I have yes, someone spent quite a while painting it up to look like a scrapper and did an amazing job!

If I do it, mine won't be done with so much skill!

Have just been doing some research on my zed and found that it used to belong to another member on here a few years back..

And by the look of the side on pic, the chassis has been bent for a very long time (notice how the drivers wheel isn't centered in the arch).

Also the wing had been changed at tat point. The grey stripe stops at the front of the door

Well spotted pig.

You know my standard issue response when people slag off the z32s performance has simply become, the one you drove was probably broken cos mine's not like that.(prob is now though cos mine is broken atm lol)

Mine was broken too, not now though love it again
