Hey guys so took my zed to Jim a few weeks ago to have some reconditioned turbos fitted, upon lifting the engine Jim found a few causes for concern, shoddy rebuild work from the previous owner. So we have decided to go ahead and fully rebuild the engine. I'll be using this thread to post progress pictures and info... I intend to go and see Noel after I've settled the engine in and then fingers crossed the car will be going in for a full respray , all new mouldings, trim etc ... Watch this space !

Indeed we have! Sounds like you're doing good things for it! No ugly bodykits and mesh please. :)

am also in the middle of doing mine will be a few nice 300s in the next few weeks

You will not go wrong with a jimmer rebuild engine matey. Jim done mine about 4-5 years ago, and she is still purring!!!

All hail jimmer!! :-)

8 years ago he did mine and it's been 100% faultless! Loves LONG drives as well as short drives.

Sounds like a great move.

Can you not do the full re-spray while the engine is being rebuilt, that way you can include the engine bay and get a proper job done?, or are you planning on pulling the engine again when the paint job comes up?

Good luck with it all!

Well hopefully if I can but I don't think funds will permit it's £150 to pick up and then £150 to drop back off again on top of a respray costs and all the rubbers etc , il probably get full car done and lift the engine at a later date

just got off the phone with the man himself, decided to change a few things in the build which will keep the car ...... interesting. Parts in place ready to order, Excited!!!

Ive had 3 300tt's and two have had the Jimmer treatment and they have been just brilliant. I dont treat them nice either as l was a big fan of track days and also speed. The max l got out of my last 300tt was 174mph at Donnington and it was still raring to go but the track did not allow it. He has also rebuilt the engine on my Navara and in 2 years since l have not put a mug of coolant in. I am the envy of some of his mates who also have Navaras as l regularly get between 29 and38 mpg and that is driving like l stole it. Yes he is my son and l am obviously biased but l also spend a lot of time in the workshop and his attention to detail is unbelievable. He never wavers, to him all work is like working on his own Zed, only the best is good enough. He is a perfectionist without doubt and there are no substitutes in his mind. Its either absolutely right or its unacceptable !!! His waiting list just confirms his knowledge, experience and the quality of the finished product. All hail Jimmer.

Thanks for the review my matey! Yes his reputation speaks for itself a true pleasure to have him work on my dirty engine. Can't wait for the rebuild it was worth the long trip and I can rest knowing it's in the best hands

Hail Jimmer !

He truly excelled getting my Zed ready for TOTB as well. 270mile round trip for me, 4 times in one week. Well worth it.

All hail The Jimmer.

A little update image.jpg

Some honestly shocking engine work by the previous owner Richard green, if you happen to meet him at JAE please tell him he's a co**!

This is a real problem with our zeds, people who clearly do not have the knowledge to carry out basic maintenance tasks doing bodge jobs adding to the whole reason why so many believe zeds aren't reliable anyways despite having to deal with what one guy botched , the engine is now being stripped away, ready for the machine shop! Been waiting on z1 for a week or so as the injectors I wanted weren't in stock and had to be delivered, kind of putting the whole priority delivery down the drain but one happy thought to get me through is knowing the cars in Jim's hands!

Sorry if this is a bit blunt but you bought a Z that had a ''engine rebuild'' did you not ask for paperwork for parts ect to surport this ?

was there any new parts found fitted on strip down ? buyer beware when being told some thing has been done with no surporting paper work or at least photo's

of the build glad your getting it sorted
