I may do it my self yet just not sure of the wiring involved

If your capable of the mechanical side, you can do the electrical bit, IIRC that bits not hard and there is always plenty of help on here! Go for it!

The wiring is the easy part lol, getting the clutch pedal in was a pain in the arse

I don't have a car lift so would have to be done on jack stands. why is the pedal so hard to fit ?

I did mine on axle stands, the access to get the pedal up under the dash, so seat out, on your back and not much room. I also found a bracket up into the dash iirc hods the reverse beep unit was a few mill in the way of getting the pedal bracket to sit home properly, so i ground off 10mm or so of the pedal bracket and managed to fit much better. There is a write up in the How to and transmission part of the tech section for all you need to know :thumbup1:

will have a look now what the bit about removing the auto spacer and filling a manual spacer ? all so would I need longer flywheel bolts or can you use the ones of the autofly wheel? and are the bolts that hold the autobox to the engine the same as the manual box ie in lenght

Ok you will need to remove the auto pilot bushing, so far ive read the best way is to pack it out with grease and use an appropriate sized dowel and give the dowel a whack, the grease forces it out. I was fortunate at the time that the engine i swapped was already a manual, so then you will need to buy a man pilot bushing about a fiver.

The flywheel will need its own bolts i cant remember if or why the auto ones dont fit, also some of the bolts are not long enough for the gearbox bolts, will look into it and let you know, its been a couple of years lol

just look through the parts I have looks like I have a set of gearbox bolts but no flywheel bolts

Ok will look into the flywheel bolts, i know they came with my conversion so didnt bother with the auto fly bolts.

Auto fly bolts are shorter due to the flex plate being thinner than the flywheel.

Do it yourself dan your more than capable. As Groover said the pedals the worst bit, getting the master cyclinder done up up can be a bit fiddly as well, my mrs with her little hands did the master lol only time she's ever lifted a finger on a car. The wiring is dead easy, I god all on here but in short,

Modify loom next to hicas to give you reverse lights. Your basically splicing the new and old sensor, isn't hard.

Disable inhibitor switch, this is basically choping out the starter relay. So that it starts In "gear".

Running a lines from the ecu to the neutral switch and to to ground, to get it to work.

That's it.

Wiring's a doddle - basically four wires off the auto wafer switch and the rest are obsolete IIRC.

Take the clocks and binnacle cover out to get the clutch pedal in. It's just the easiest way and removing the clocks only takes about 10 minutes tops.

Me and a friend did my gearbox swap on axle stands with no prior experience of working on Z32s at all, and we only needed to ring Baz and Luke (from Z Centre) a handful of times for advice...
