the thread started to get the attention of the forum not the people involved, from what ive read ian had offered the refund in full if it was returned as sold long before this started, when the buyer refused ian refuse, maybe more to it than i know about but im not sure

Kev this is why I close threads it stops posts getting out of hand and members saying there leaving. Why leave. The club is bigger that any of us and a lot of good things are happening. Things do go wrong but thats life and we have to deal with it. Now calm down and take 5 to think it over.

I want to know if I can become a new trader but it no doubt will be refused as it could be seen as clashing with Mondo's business

 

I believe there is a load of dosh to be made on here at times from selling both members and moderators alike rhino skins as it seems at times both sides need them

 

Maybe all should type in draft replies dont send themthen read them half hour later and then if you are really happy with what you are posting click the post button

threads like this always end up causing uspet even if they are not intended to, ive been a mod long enough to see this happen before and seen it get way out of hand before, i havent posted much for the last 6 months or so as i have other things going on with training, kids and so forth but i do still pop on and read everything, if ian was in the wrong with this i would be the first to say he was as but i truly dont think in this situ that he was wrong

We all do kev but have you noticed no one ever just logs off or ignores the thread...nowt wrong with clearing the air at all then we all move on and talk cars,thats what a gang of lads do..online or in the street.

I hear you mate...we all have the right to defend who we think has had a raw deal and the same right to voice our views.just like i did and you too and thats cool but i get upset when members start leaving after many years here over things that a month down the line get forgoten.Ive been a committee member and currently a mod but since 2004 ive always been a member 1st.

Well this escalated really quickly...

 

I can assure everyone that mods are not protected at all, if anything we need to be whiter than white in most things. No matter what we try to do we will always be praised and condemned in equal amounts.. I and other mods often bend over backwards to try to resolve issues. We don't do this to be popular or to pick on members, we do it because we love this club and want to keep it running the best we can. Sometimes we do get it wrong, but we will always try to sort it out. In this case Silverline was offered a full refund, if he sent the item back as he received it. He was unable to do this as he had altered it. He was then offered a 50% refund, to return it as was and that was also rejected by him. What else was Vodkashots supposed to do? If you bought something from a shop, changed it and then tried to get your money back, how far would you get with that?

 

Can everyone please bear in mind that us mods are people to, and we are just trying to help and often have difficult decision to make. In this case both Vodkashots and Silverline are my friends, and I firmly believed that this could be resolved amicably. Sadly this does not seem to be the case.

My twopennorth - no sides being taken, no people being singled out, nobody being quoted (not even my committee or moderator colleagues) - just my twopennorth as an individual who has just read this thread.....

 

Whatever you, me, Silverline or Vodkashots think about this matter is purely our own opinion. Nobody apart from Silverline and Vodkashots themselves know EXACTLY what has transpired between them - so anything anybody else thinks (me included) is based upon what we have heard from whoever has told us their side of the story. And as humans, we always tend to make up the other, unknown, side in our minds....

 

Yes, it sounds like I'm sitting on the fence; and that is precisely because I am on committee and must remain impartial, for the good of the club, no matter what my personal view is. But please - we're all grown ups here. The only people who have the right to be angry are the very two involved in the deal in the first place - just because you, me or him have differing opinions, it is no reason to chuck toys out of prams. The club has stepped in to mediate as far as it's possible to do - the two parties have been in contact, an offer was made, an offer was refused. It's between them - and certainly none of my personal business as to why talks have broken down. It's the kind of thing I might deal with every day at work - albeit at work it is on a bigger scale, it's business, it's real and in front of me; oh yeah - and I get paid for it...:lol:

 

But this club is primarily internet based; and if you ask 100 people on the internet their opinion, you will get 99 different opinions (the other guy was too busy watching porn to register his view). I think it's a very sad loss if Silverline walks away - I think it's a sad loss if Vodkashots decides to step down as a moderator after his contribution to the club over the years. I know both guys have made many friends from the forum over the years; but I think it's far sadder if anyone else walks away in protest over an opinion they may hold based on knowing circa half of the facts.....
