Well it has been a long time coming lol, 4 years in primer, the first 2 beige and last 2 in white. With driving the zed everyday, it was always difficult to pick a good time to get it done, but now ive bought a cheap runaround and going on holiday next week, so the time and chance has come :thumbup:

I started yesterday with some wet and dry on the main bodywork, which is smooth anyway but after years of weathering the primer is very porous and attracts the dirt and grime so easily, so had to get rid of a layer. It will be re- primered with a couple of high build coats before painting, but the least the bodyshop has to do the better for me lol.

The bumpers are another story, the rear with lots of crazing and paint cracking so i have had to sand down to the gel coat and will get another going over in the shop, the front lip is cracked on the 99 spec bumper ( hit a curb :whistling:) so a bit of repair to do.

Both the bumpers are coming off for the respray, so im going to put them on temporarily with half a dozen bolts to save time, along with some interior to strip to take the door handles off, windscreen washers, aerial and petrol flap.

Will take some pics tomorrow and post up of how she is at the moment and hopefully as im away, the guys in the bodyshop can take some progress pics to the finish.

Then when i return, i will have about a week to sort the trims etc ready for Coventry and i so look forward to getting the polish out instead of the wet and dry :punk:

Seriously; it's looking really good Graham - can't wait to see it on Saturday mate!!

Just watch out for those clumsy fat b@stards in their shabby MPVs on the ferry, make sure they don't fling their doors open onto your nicely prepped car...:mad:

:lol::lol::lol: good one, i like that :thumbup1:

Never seen a colour coded filler cap and numberplate lights before, very novel. lol ;)

Looking good; so nice to see some colour on that car Graham! Black roof bars too - great choice!

Very nice, looks very similar to the colour I put on my last z.

It was a real head turner, and the fastest colour.

I have cleaned off the paint from the number plate lights lol, but will be having an led strip modification later, so those two rust domes are going.

No one will see the petrol cap lol, it was a case of getting it done quick and had more issues to worry about than a filler cap :biggrin:

Going back in in two weeks to sort a couple of bits out, still got mesh to put in the bumper sort trims out, but for now its all one colour, which im happy with :thumbup:
