My Z is going into the paintshop for some remedial work next month. I am back pondering a moustache! I know PolioJ is an advocate of them. I'd be having it painted with a dark metallic grey, the indicators and fog lights will have a light tint film on them.

 

I like the look of both, but the moustache almost gives the car more 'girth' by illusion! Unsure. I am still thinking that this look is a 50/50 split....

 

 

Revert it back Si. Wider, meaner, more aggressive looking IMO.

 

Can I ask what paintwork you are having remedied?

Sure is.. There's not a huge amount left, mainly cosmetic and Interior. I'm hoping I can get it done for JAE this year..

I prefer the stock look. Gives the front more interest and shows off the lines.

You've never had the moustache? I meant revert back to that. When I had my shorty resprayed I kept the moustache in satin grey, but then colour coded it when I deleted the parking mast. I regretted it.

Simon, you have definately worded the question of the thread incorrectly. It's not a dilemma of whether to go for the moustache or not (that's a given and the answer is obviously yes - as Andrew kindly helped point out!), but more the question of exactly what colour to paint it.

Blacks are not in the poll, nor is the oem grey, it has to be somewhere in between... But where?

Have you seen Toyota dekoma grey (sp?) it's a very nice dark metallic grey. I used it on my PAS pot, cam covers and various brackets. It's a subtle change from stock but still nice..

Si do it. Its good for the sole and if no likey you can revert back. Like what i did with my black bonnet.unless you try it your not going to know for sure. Do it.anyway this is what you should do .agree to a vote then go with the result in say a week from now. Yes mustache. Or no for stock.put up vote man.come on be brave.

Do you have a paint code in mind? Don't forget the wing mirror base will need to be the same colour as the moustache.

Whatever this is! When I get the TwinZ diffuser, it will be done in that colour too.

Here's some from a while back. I've also done the CC module thingy in it as well. It's a little bit more sparkly in the sun but not by much..

I also did my throttle cover in the same colour. Just hadn't put it on in the pics as I was sorting the wiring out..
