JaiKai - Full rebuild & Respray

So its finally happening after been off the road for well over a year the zed is on Target for its refurbishment.

Last year I started with doing all the underbody suspension stuff to make the ride more stable and after that

I decided I wanted to do a full strip down to the bare shell and start from scratch to create a show quality z32.

After much bad luck and many thousands of pounds wasted on rotted zeds i'm cracking on with the original plan.

So as a quick update i'll post some older picks followed over the next few weeks by an overall progress report.

Starting off with how she was when I first purchased her 3 years ago until the state she is now then showing the

strip down and all the bad luck I've had.

So here she is as I bought her :

What a hell of a day; as the west cost just had what seemed like 4 seasons in a few hours.

Started off nice and sunny this morning and I decided to start changing over my new brake disks

only for it to start puring down followed by a few thrashes of thunder too.

In less than 15 minutes it went from blue skys to dark grey clouds and no sun to be seen anywhere.

Caught off guard my zed what jacked up; wheel off and tools scattered all about the street.

I threw what I could into the zed then hid for cover :

30 minutes later I manged to get back out and secure the wheel after which the wife showed up

to help push the zed safely back in the garage.

One of the bad points until now is that when working on my zed I always need two folks to get

her back inside as the bugger is just far too heavy.

But today was the last straw so I bought a ratchet strap to help pull it back and secured it with

some bolts on the garage wall.

put a bit of old carpet over that wall fitting...iff it pulls out the wall it will take your back window out or put a ding in your rear bumper

I was going to say to be careful the wall doesn't come down Lee, it would be soul crushing if anything bad happened to that car!!1

I'm loving the engine bay mate:drool::drool:

What a day its been, started off bad with the brake pipe mishap but things went great for the rest of the day.

Completed the fuel rail pipe system, fitted the bumper support bar and then popped the bumper back on

followed by new signal looms and fitted the front fogs and indicators.

Repositioned the clips for the polished pipes so not as much of the bolts heads show and they don't block

the bonnet from closing properly.

Fitted the battery and setup the new loom ready to be crimped later on in the week.

Also fitted the front water pipes and viscous fan again
