So its finally happening after been off the road for well over a year the zed is on Target for its refurbishment.

Last year I started with doing all the underbody suspension stuff to make the ride more stable and after that

I decided I wanted to do a full strip down to the bare shell and start from scratch to create a show quality z32.

After much bad luck and many thousands of pounds wasted on rotted zeds i'm cracking on with the original plan.

So as a quick update i'll post some older picks followed over the next few weeks by an overall progress report.

Starting off with how she was when I first purchased her 3 years ago until the state she is now then showing the

strip down and all the bad luck I've had.

So here she is as I bought her :

So what do you think you're missing. Unless the plugs have been cut, it should just 'plug and play'?

A moment to make Si proud, going back to my oem steering wheel.

Just need to find a new horn loom part as that's missing from this one.

I'm liking this Lee!:thumbup1: ...

Especially as I've got your steering boss:tt2::clap:

Yeh,

Its a plastic colar that has a plug for the horn and cruise and also cancels the signals.

There is also the metal disc part which creates the circuit, is that there? Part of the boss iirc

Nice Lee! You know I get more excited about getting new OEM fastenings delivered as I do upgrades! There's something special about seeing loads of Nissan baggies with nice new nuts and bolts in them. :)

Buy now whilst you still can, those bits aren't going to be around forever! They'll likely be phased out sooner rather than later!

Oh yes,

When I started the refurb my initial order was nearly 3k and that renewed all rubbers, lights and a few other bits.

I've since spent another £1000 nearly and more to come next year as I want to replace all the under engine and

wheel shrouds.

I soon need to do a calculation for insurance to show them what I've spent which scares me.

That's a tasty shopping list there matey, liking that alot. Don't get Simon started on Z financial expenditure though, his bank manager is currently trying to track him down with a bottle of champers!

Lee, I have a spare washer jet t-piece if you want it. It's brand new. It's the black one that clips to the bonnet. FREE!

This is mine Lee, just fit this today as it was my spare but my one I had on the horn contacts had given up the ghost, looks like this is the exact one for the SRS S4 steering wheel.

Update time !

Starting off with this bloody right side turbo vac pipe, I've been struggling to get this sorted for 4 weeks now.

The issue I had was my big muckle hands and no matter what I did I couldn't get into the actuator to fit the vac

pipe but patience was a virtue as my lovely and heavily pregnant wife spent nearly 45 minutes getting it fixed.

Well done Bernadette :)

Used her phone for a few shots show below to see the progress of how far we needed to push the pipe on :

Now that's done I started to put back the main pipes running to the intercoolers, nice new z1 pipes.

2015-07-25 18.23.14.jpg

Unfortunately I've just discovered that the hard pipe kit also ordered from z1 came with the wrong clips so I'm 6 missing.

Finally fitted the boost controller pipe work.

Is it just me or has everyone that has ordered parts from Z1 had parts missing from their orders!! I'd say it's quite frustrating, they still haven't posted out my clear side markers that I ordered in 2009!! and wanted $1800 to ship a Twinz bumper, spoiler and skirts to Ireland.

What is it with their staff?? are they all incompetent??

Nice work by the way, Fair Play to you Mrs. JaiKai:thumbup1:

yeh,

there is 16 clamps in total that they sent and they were all the same size.

Not really liking the quality of the clamps either so going to order up some new one.

However as much as I like mikalor they are very bulky, i'm looking for something that I can hide the bolts so that all you see is the bands.

What clamps do you recommend getting Lee?? Do you not find it annoying having to wait twice as long for parts because some clown couldn't be bothered to do his job properly?
