Well, I got up this morning and realised I couldn't breathe!! Being a girlie, I tried to work through it but after half an hour I got carted off in an ambulance. Can't praise the paramedics highly enough. The first one was here in under 5 minutes and they were all lovely. The hospital don't know if I've got a blood clot on my lung or a chest infection so they are throwing everything at it and I'm covered in tubes n wires n an oxygen mask. And they have poked about 10 new holes in me!!! Not the happiest bunny at the mo. I think I need a hug!!

Well, I know what's going on. I've got a big clot on one lung and fluid on the other so no wonder I'm poorly. Will just have to rest up till its sorted :-/

You must of felt really poorly with that lot...with the right drugs and rest it wont be long before your right again. Did they tell you what caused the clot and fluid?

ouch.. no wonder you felt ill.

Im pretty sure you will be on antibiotics and anti coagulants in the drip and probably something to control that heart rate!!!

Resting will allow the drugs to get to work and your body will then be able to fight back .

Once that fluid has decreased Im sure you will feel better.

Im sorry to read you are ill and in hospital but such a swift diagnosis is reassuring and will allow the correct treatment to begin. This in turn will help promote a speedy and full recovery

All the best.

Pete

Doing much better thanks. They have removed 3 litres of fluid off my lung so far so I can breathe again although I'm still on oxygen. Im also on antibiotics as I have a chest infection too and blood thinners for the big clot in my other lung. Luckily I'm on a side ward by myself cos the big main ward sounds like bedlam with the obligatory mad woman who won't stay in bed and does lots of shouting!

Sounds like hell! I have been soooooo lucky with my health. Never broken a bone, never been hospitalised, never ill, not even any fillings (not bad for 35).....I feel fortunate. Get yourself better and the hell out of that hospital Mandy!!!!! :)

Wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery.

Well I'm back home. Still very weak and tired but they managed to reinflate my lung which had virtually collapsed and stuck it to my chest wall with talc!!! Hopefully it won't recur. Gotta take it easy obviously but great to be home under my snuggly blanket

Huh! Well that didn't last long. I've had a relapse and I'm back in Hossie. Lung has filled with fluid again. They have managed to drain some off again so at least I can breathe again and walk more than 10 feet!! Saves me having to cook I spose!!!
