OK guys n gals well this is just a bit of fun really

My car is going to Noz for mapping and dyno testing on Thursday

Anyone want to try and guess what BHP I will get?

Assuming these are the things that will mostly determine or limit the results:

I have GTX2860R turbos

600cc Injectors from PFI Canada

Yellow Jacket coil packs

HKS EVC Boost Controller

Some sort of decat stainless exhaust system (never knew what it actually is)

Standard SMICs, Induction, manifold

Stock engine

Manual transmission

All the usual deletes - EGR, Air Con etc

So just for a bit of fun then, what's the best guess for that lot? Closest gets..... some street cred.... and rep from me lol

I would I would say 540-560fwhp there good tubs but I recon you might need breather mods to get more than the mid 500s out of it.

would uprating the intercoolers be the next step here

500 at the engine, 460 at the wheels. But I bet there is 100 hp band where it could sit depending on how safe you want it to be.

Whatever the numbers, it will be rapid.

This is an edit that takes on board the standard clutch, no uprated IC and rad, at the fly then 455 .

Had a rethink

id say you could go loads more than five hundred BUT you need to upgrade the breathing and deffo intercollers so with that in mind your going to have to keep it sensible to save it melting anythiny so im going to say a more moderate 420 bhpto 440 but with the other mods done easly go to plus 500 with a 150 maff and larger intercoolers.

I know that recently we have seen that you don't have to forge an engine straight away, you can put a lot of power through a stock one but at some point you will kill it, and you will start eating clutches. Whatever Noz 'could' turn it up to will be limited by reliability. But from what I have read if I had "half a thousand horsepower" I would be a happy man kbowing it will probably be fast every day for 40 000 miles.

what boost you going up to Rich

Depends on what Noz decides to do Steve

@vodkashots - 'is it fuel mapped'?

I guess that is part of what Noz does too?

Regards Intercoolers etc - yes that upgrade is part of the next stage together with other induction upgrades, AMS manifolds, performance Rad and some other stuff. I may well fit a FMIC as there is plenty of room behind the large scoop on my front bumper and it would look impressive too

I also have my old engine to strip and rebuild with forged parts

But all that's for next winter. For now I want to have my car on the road and although Noz gave me a base map chip to get the car running with the 600cc injectors it's not properly set up for them so it's in for remapping in it's current format as I said. If nothing else this will eventually prove what difference the other supporting mods make as it will be mapped again next year.

All will be revealed next Thursday then, but anyone else like to place a guess do feel free to have a punt

speeling mistaks

Well knowing Noz and his magic, with similar set up he managed 462bhp and an expressive 502 ftlb of torque ,so I'm going to be a bit conservative and say 485.5 bhp:), running it safe.

I didn't know he had mapped a gt2560r equipped car? Just the clarify any confusion, these are often called gt28r and were fitted to s15 Silvia's. The kits is the one labeled by Z1 as the gt600r kit. 450 can be pulled out of stock turbos and 500 out of gt525s which are much less efficient and smaller, so I'd definatly expect to break 500fwhp.

Rich, there's no mention of clutch, is it uprated ?

The clutch is standard for now Andy (AFAIK).

I didn't know he had mapped a gt2560r equipped car? J

They are GTX2860R Steve or maybe that was a typo? :devil2:

fmic even better for you mods

Yeah I do rather fancy a FMIC - I think it will work rather well with the front bumper i have fitted - and hopefully look pretty mean too lol. That's a job for the winter though

mmm in fairness Tom I don't really know

It's whatever one was in there when I bought the car TBH

The car was originally an Auto, and converted to manual before I owned it so it would be whatever was fitted at that time I guess. As other upgrades were also already fitted like the Decat Exhaust and HKS Boost controller (and the Eibech suspension) it could be anything - so I just said it is standard AFAIK :innocent:

I assume if it is 'standard' then I will soon know about it?

Rich

Only joking mate, who knows, I had a stock clutch with 460ft lbs at the engine from like 2500rpm and it was right on its limit and kind of worked. If yours is even 25 percent uprated you may be ok :clover: I wasn't wanting to be a dick :)

hey no worries the question was a good 'un

I have some more specific info now as Lee Dent knows what the clutch is seeing as he had to pull my engine

So I can tell you it is 'quote: Clutch was an exedy spec 1.1 so pods a stage 2 '

So toss that into the equation as well. Roll on Thursday...... quite literally i would imagine
