????? whats Mitsubishi parts doing on a Nissan?????

Mitsubishi makes a whole range of electronic and engineering components mate - cars are just one of their vast product range! Hell, they even supply lifts here in the UK....

Richard:wink:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Hmmmm Does anyone actually have a circuit diagram for the PTU? This is a very simple bit of electronics - shouldn't be too difficult to build something like this on a PCB - basically just six drivers for the coil packs

Possibly uses six powerfets - or more likely IGBT drivers - plus a handful of resistors

In fact given these things were built in the eary 90's it should be possible to design an even better one with the devices currently available :tongue_smilie:

Anyone interested in a bit of a project?

No Bazza! I broke that ptu last year trying to solve the blue relay problem that you solved :)... I've only just taken that ptu off the car as it was siliconed on, so still not sure what's up to be honest, but it's been narrowed down to just a few things now :)

My thoughts too Joely , A place in Auz is banging new ones out for about £60, most of us know someone over there who could possibly post a few over to us rather cheaply !

I thought the reliable S2 ptu could be picked up fairly cheaply nowadays (especially on US eBay)? Maybe the time, effort, R&D required wouldn't make it cost effective?

No probs buddy, will do :)

Daz send it to me anyway - no harm in having a look
