Boot installs....... and Targa Panels eek!!

Well as the title says, the two seem a little incompatilbe

Have any others here got around the issue of having a good looking and great sounding boot install yet still having space to stash the targa's..... without compromising on sound? If so could you share some pics and specs please

I really really dont' want to put the targas on my white leather seats! :pinch:

Hi Rich,,

I put mine in white leather bags I had made and they will sit behind both seats if you are carefull and they look ok because they blend in with all the white leather around my ice and when I go to show the z,,put them under the car,,, but remember they are there,,,,,, lolllllll

Well when I had full alpine install with blackbird satnav didn't want to go for full boot install but wanted good sound,so they put two amps in,one mounted under the carpets next to spare wheel this is driving front and rear speakers, then we put focal amp and subwoofer separately in the boot on show with satnav but not compromising with space so targras still fit and plenty of space when we put our cases in the boot, subwoofer is controlled via a switch in the centre arm witch is good fun:).

It's defiantly the sensible option. My personal preference is for a sports car to not have extra weight and useless stuff poured into it, I personally feel it's also a bit old hat, that fad has come and gone.

Of corse these are just my opinions but they do make sense.

I personally don't think 'boot installs' look good at all really regardless of effort, quality and budget, they're just not my slice of pie and think they look a bit silly. I think AndrewG has the best compromise with his slim line sub box that is almost invisible, yet he manages to get good quality sound.

I did away with my sub and enclosure as I hated having my boot with stuff in it. I also found it embarrassing whenever I went to functions or took the car into Europe to have a 'phat sub' on show every time I opened the boot.

I did away with it and returned my boot to a fully functional boot and it looks so much nicer and I don't feel ashamed whenever I open my boot anymore! LOL. I just upgraded EVERYTHING else with discrete high grade stuff and it gives me all I need. I have Alpine products throughout with a tiny, but punchy amplifier hidden behind the dash.

Oh heavens - guys - I was asking for sensible solutions to a problem, not an argument on what is or is not sensible/embarrassing/fashionable

@Funkysi - would you find yourself embarrassed lying naked on a beach? - yet others seek out and enjoy those same activities. If they do and you don't does that make naturists wrong?

Rich

Hey hey, that's a bit far. It was clearly said in jest.

I've at no point got personal with you and said I think it looks terrible you should change it etc, merely expression my options on a public discussion board.

As for your feelings surrounding the club that is another matter entirely and up to you....

Me?

Age is just a number as is Watts RMS lol

Rich one of the installs I do keeps about 70% of boot space and plenty of room for tagra and shopping

2 10 " single box's that fit the side panels nicely

Incidentally, many if these boot builds... I assume make accessing the spare or even the carrying if a spare impractical? Making things like what marks saying more user friendly as well as sensible.

Not necessarily...

Yours was mentioned earlier I believe as an example of subtle ness. That's fine, still wouldn't do it myself but that's not obtrusive or taking away anything. Well executed mate.

Not necessarily...

Now that I really like...!!!
