Got mine from Jeff.

me and him fell out a while back after some work he did for me so will have to give that one a miss

I’ve always run with a Z1 Alu shaft and never had an issue. Good quality, well balanced and very light.

In fact, last year, when I did my TT to NA diff conversion, I had to sell my Z1 Alu TT shaft and I bought a NA shaft from Z1. TT shaft was as good as the day I fitted it and that’s after being put through drag racing, track days and drifting.

Calculate the cost and see if the Z1 is worth it….

what kind of power you putting down I was worried the alu one wouldn't be very strong

Around 370 @ fly. give them a call and discuss it with them. I have always found them very helpful and knowledgeable.

Z1 aluminum is fine, running on mine without issue at 700+

there we go then that says it all thanks mate

you are taking one off cus your fitting a na diff ??

Why you taking yours off Dave??

In your opinion how much difference is here between the na and tt diffs??

Because shortening the gears on a car that already suffers with traction is a silly idea. I'm sure 3rd is rocket ship fun but 1st and 2nd are going to be damned useless, they are with tt ratios. You need a lot of grip to take advantage of the shorter ratios.

I would love to see comparison numbers on a quarter mile between the two on road tyres. IMO obviously.

Would like to know why your taking the NA diff off too, I've got one to go on my rebuild

Try Mark derby, I'm sure he does em..............

If you paid up front I recon jeff may be reasonable, buisness is buisness. It's a pretty simple transaction.

I've got an ali prop and it's fine. I've also got an na diff and don't suffer traction issues. Maybe I need a bit more power :-)

Your car isn't exactly stock bob, significantly more traction makes it useable, you don't use normal road tyres on it do you. Even at stock boost we all know these cars are hard to launch, a set of drag radials makes a stock z32 way faster. Obviously there are exceptions to the rule. However how many of us can honestly say you make the most out of 1st and second, maybe second on a roll but off the line.... Throwing shorter ratios in won't instantly make it faster to 60 per say, faster to 100 likely yeah.

I'm always happy to be proven wrong but it's just fairly obvious that in a situation were traction is the limiting factor governing acceleration, creating a situation that puts further stress on the same factor is going to hinder things. If you can create adequate grip to start with well then it's no longer a limiting factor.

Mine has na rear and I think its made it a better car,

It pulls better in all gears makes the car feel lighter and it grips fine, and if anything its tightened the back end up and made it much more controlled cause all the hicas junk has gone with it....

with crap tyres or in the wet there's problems with grip, Its probably more what u do with the car, the zed is never gonna grip like a 4wd car on a quarter mile but its never let me down at the lights with normal rd cars lol...

Two years ago my car made 666 at the hubs as a road car and with n/a ratios I didn't have traction issues. Yes it's true I had decent suspension but this was with simply decent road tyres. I will agree that it was a handful on the road but that was the idea. As Terry said the real limiting factor with any rear wheel drive car is the tyres and the driver. I won't be changing my rear diff in a hurry :)

PS. It's not about being right or wrong. It's about challenging people perceptions and ideas then seeing how they work for us :)

the quaife helps too ;)

however, it's shocking how many zeds have cheap, crappy tires fitted. A premium tire makes a huge difference, then R888's and the like are another step after that

Bolt what tyres suspension etc are you using, in the dry I get a bit of tramp at the rear in first and the slightest tractive scrabbling wheelspin in second, like 500rpm rev lead sort of thing. Thats 430 and 460tq at the fly on Kuhmo sporty saloon style rear tyres. It was more skitty when my suspension was too hard. I'm going NA soon and reckon it will be manageable.
