Guys as we all know the GTO boys have always looked at our cars with envy :) Anyway there are some good guys in their community and I have been discussing ten of the best with a few of them and I have challenged them to a team competition. Yes there will be some big power cars but mostly it will be normal guys with a few mods looking to have a bit of fun. We are thinking a maximum of 8 entries per team to count to the points and we feel that to help it work we will allow Saturday times to count on the 1/4 and top speed run. This means if you only want to do boot camp you will still be part of the team (not handling as the course changes each day).

We are also thinking each entry to donate £10 into the pot and the winning team gets all the money for the charity of their choice. There is also optional £5 head to head pairs if anyone wants it but we will need to clarify fully later. The GTOOC charity is 'justgiving' and we can choose ours if this forum doesn't currently support one. For myself I already support help for heroes but am happy to go along with the rest.

I will share this on my facebook page and will keep the page updated with details.

Have a good think about this guys it's an opportunity to try your hand at 3 disciplines for very little money and see which of our cars is the best all rounder. I often see people suggesting that the zed gets very little respect from the rest of the community and this is a chance to show them how good this car can be. I really do think it will be a great weekend if we can get a decent team together. Yes I will be focussing on doing well but this will help to make it fun as well.

I will be there for the full weekend and can sort out details with Dave Naxton. I would truly like this to work and am more than happy to arrange the event however I would not be able to provide much support on the day. I think we could set up a team area to compete with the best so I am confident we can make it a brilliant weekend.

Yes it's early but can you start thinking about it now and any feedback/offers of help/entries will be appreciated.

He did brilliant and I'm hoping he does even better tomorrow :-)

Heading up the M5 after finishing everything and having a most welcome pitstop at Jaffa's whilst stealing more goodies for my Zed. Unless the unexpected happens, will see you all later today once the car is mapped :D

on these runs your doing, of whitch i like to wish you all the luck in the world and be safe. that said is there going to be or i have missed, where your runs and times are then latarser going to be put up, yes but again with what major mods or twicks you have done to your cars.

ie, noel 10.5. and has standered tubs running at i bar and fmic ect. i know thats not going to happen in his times but you get were im comming from?

Any updates from today? I've seen the timing sheets but that's a very one dimensional view of things!

And its a distorted view too.

I have no idea how they managed to credit me with a 40s run on the handling course?????

My best was a 48.5

I also encountered a pretty stroppy safety marshall on the entrance to the handling runs:thumbdown:

The funniest mistake of all was being called out for an award for best 60ft time in RWD class.....................................

Yeah I wish:whistling:

Another timing howler.

So in summary I had a good and enjoyable day .

IMO the orgainisers could have been sharper.... and in one case a bit more polite.

Would have gad some more stuff to go up but my phone automatically uploads everything to Google plus, so it spent all day uploading so it killed by battery........

Right Here Goes.......

top speed at 1 Kilometer post 120mph.

48.51s for handling circuit.

All done with a very old driver behind the wheel.:tt2:

First and foremost a great turnout by the boys today and some excellent first runs I was impressed by all. I think I spoke to everyone but if I didn't apologies I was having a bad weekend :-)

Of course we beat the GTO team hands down both days but they took it graciously lol.

Unfortunately we didn't win a team trophy but was close.

Despite my ups and downs I managed to get on the bottom step of the podium for the top speed, quarter mile, and handling so three trophies to put on the mantelpiece :-)

I am staying at Petes tonight as didn't fancy the long drive home tonight.

Who needs turbos... Looks like fun, maybe down the line if my zed's up to it I'll join in.

What sort of time did the tt guys set?

From low 13's to me at 14.12 i just couldnt get below 14 but this is the first time ive ever done this sort of thing. Im still grinning it was a fantastic weekend. My car is running 1bar of boost on std auto turbos, still has its cats . Fmic and electronic boost control which i think it what stopped me breaking into the 13's i fiddled with the gain by accident. Matters not coz i didnt come last. We all beat the only 350z that was there

Well done bob it was a pleasure racing with you this weekend thanks for all you help and advise. In all i thought we brought sex appeal to the whole proceedings. Apart from a black zed owned by some bloke called Bird that just sat in the pits all day like a cuckoo trying to fit in :ninja:

I was struggling with decent times and was trying some new things. Yesterday I managed an 11.59 and today my best was 11.64 in the head to head eliminator.
