She has just turned 14 and is telling me that 'anything under a 3ltr just won't do!' Joy!!!

Sorry chaps, you're both shit outta luck. Chances are there won't be much difference in price for insurance on these than on a corsa. You'll have to tell them the road tax and fuel will kill then. Because the insurance won't lol
