Engine change

I've bought an engine from Baz last September which has been sitting for about 5-6 months. I'm fitting it this weekend and want to know if there is anything I need to do before attempting to start it. I've also got some braided oil feed pipes for the turbos. They don't seem to have the correct fittings, could someone tell me if they are the right ones

I'd be sure to leave the fuel pump fuse out on first crank to build up the oil pressure and get it around the engine before the big fire up.

Any need to put oil down into the cylinder bores?

Nope that's only really for compression test, pulling the fuel relay allows the oil to be where it should at the pressure it should when the engine is running. Especially as a large percentage of engine wear is on first start when cold.

If I have any advice is, take your time and ask as many questions as you can/want. It really isn't that hard to do the job it's just the confidence starting one.

Those braided lines look normal to my memory. The threaded end goes in the top of the turbo and the eyed end onto the block. Take your time, take pictures and ask questions etc. when I comes to turn the key, as said do it with the fuel relay out, which should still be out from removal, and crank it over till you can see oil coming into the cams via the oil filler cap. Then give it some more lol.
