1995 Silver Series IV Slicktop Version S - Taking To Another Level

Took many items off my engine and have sent them to a metal polisher just a few miles from me and below are the results of his and my work :cool3:.

This is my aftermarket radiator bracket, it was or is stainless steel but now highly polished. The SLICKTOP plate was made by TwinTurboRich and I've had this powder coated and bolts on with some stainless steel allen capped nuts and bolts.

This is my Tokyo Auto cooling panel, original these come in silver or blue from z32-zone in Japan, mine was silver and the polisher told me it was anodized but now polished up as you can see. The logo was originally silver and riveted on, I drilled these out and had it powder coated, again bolted on using the same attractive stainless bolts.

Then the usual polished up water pipes, these will be used with red silicone hoses and mikalor t-clamps

Finally for this post, had my Altia sills polished, this removed many many scratches incurred from over the years, now I have a mirror finish.

  • Although this 95 is incredibly clean and we want it to stay this way, Jim has been underneath it, scrubbing, cleaning because he bought a Rust Buster Epoxy Kit in Silver Aluminium which is not far off

Interesting, didn't know they updated these switches. On another note, you've got to replace those faded door handles with the metal Terrano II handles - will give a premium solid feel and finish it off nicely.

Thank you, but I used to sell those handles to other members ?.

Those you see are the original import's cards, I have some alcantara ones to be migrated in from my 94, of course the chrome handles as well, all with Jim.

Thank you, but I used to sell those handles to other members [emoji3].

Ah ha, something else I didn’t know. Sounds like a solid plan [emoji1417].

The last post I dealt with the Akebono brakes, for these I needed 18 inch wheels so I got some. Concave 'A' fitment and the type of rim I got, all round caused an issue on the fronts with calliper clearance, basically the wheels would not go over or it was far too tight or close.

Anyway, Jim solved this by fitting CZP brackets instead of what I had the Z1 ones which shifted the calliper further inside by about 5mm.

So with 62mm long extended studs and a 10mm hubcentric spacer, 15mm was too much poke fyi, we finally have got there.

The wheels are 18 inch Work Emotion CR2P's, Gunmetal centres with polished lip, fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4's all round.

Rears are bolt on +32, fronts are the same offset but with a 10mm spacer making them +22.

This picture just shows the rear fitment, Jim's wheel is on the front when this was taken a week or so back.

And where we are today, on its new wheels, still all a work in progress but we're getting there.

Fronts are 8.5J, Rears are 9.5j.

Tyres are 245/35/18 and 275/35/18.

UPDATE :- After a long cv19 blamed delay, I am informed my new Work wheels are in the country.

This post brings things up to present day, I have chosen this shape of quad exits and slash cut, I have also stressed the length must be to my liking also, the reason for the side on trial fit pic.

I really like the look and style of those Andy - great choice....!!

I agree with your decision to keep the length just inside the bumper, I'm not a fan of the tailpipes protruding too far out either. That's the kind of thing I'd pick too....?

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Little engine bay glimpse and wheel alignment.............

Front bumper needs spraying, that moustache debate again, I guess I'll go with whatever, I know the colour it needs to be btw, 95 cars didn't tend to have it though.

Nice tube welding! Just how quiet is that system?

I have not heard it or driven it, only can go off what Jim says and he likes, bit more refined than the old 2.5 inch Alunox system, and that was the remit.

Jim is close to driving the car apparently, might get a video soon perhaps, especially if he reads this !!

The 'BREAKING' signature pic is my original car I bought in 2009 and is being broke, not lying, I got a fresh import from Josh Lake which was a NA but rust free.

Here are both together on my drive, having both been at Jimmer's for 2 years.

This 1995 LWB car helped, bought very locally 3 years ago and provided the optional extra digital AC system and the late series keyless system, now at Banzai Breakers this one, served it's purpose for me, thank you.

Lots more updates to come in due course but this is my engine bay as of today, totally rebuilt by Jimmer with pistons, turbos, etc, which I have posted earlier in this thread.

Not fully totally done yet, I have jobs to do on the drive, like today putting the rad bracket on and the throttle cover with it's new decal.

You may notice the cruise control actuator, this is a work in progress and is being retro fitted, more on that later.

More also on the digital AC in the days to come, I always had the manual pod on the 94 but with the white 95 providing the digital one I have migrated the full loom from that LWB into my 95 SWB, this was a mammoth task and I spent 5 days in Bristol doing this and amongst other jobs, for now though just a pic of the pod itself, I have the missing switch btw.

Tokyo Auto slam panel I think they call this, just had to fiddle this to get it to fit on the 1995.

I do have the nose panel rubber to go on yet, for the bonnet shut line as on the earlier series cars, another thing that was deleted on the later cars.

Fit my throttle cover and the Tokyo Auto strut brace.

These actually touch each other in the centre, so I've used a piece of neoprene as a gasket.
