1995 Silver Series IV Slicktop Version S - Taking To Another Level

Took many items off my engine and have sent them to a metal polisher just a few miles from me and below are the results of his and my work :cool3:.

This is my aftermarket radiator bracket, it was or is stainless steel but now highly polished. The SLICKTOP plate was made by TwinTurboRich and I've had this powder coated and bolts on with some stainless steel allen capped nuts and bolts.

This is my Tokyo Auto cooling panel, original these come in silver or blue from z32-zone in Japan, mine was silver and the polisher told me it was anodized but now polished up as you can see. The logo was originally silver and riveted on, I drilled these out and had it powder coated, again bolted on using the same attractive stainless bolts.

Then the usual polished up water pipes, these will be used with red silicone hoses and mikalor t-clamps

Finally for this post, had my Altia sills polished, this removed many many scratches incurred from over the years, now I have a mirror finish.

  • Although this 95 is incredibly clean and we want it to stay this way, Jim has been underneath it, scrubbing, cleaning because he bought a Rust Buster Epoxy Kit in Silver Aluminium which is not far off

Really nice - I'm loving the Altia sills! Where can they be sourced from?

Think you might of missed that boat by about 20 years..........................very rarely come up for sale 2nd hand and expect to pay well in excess of £100.00.

Power steering pot done :cool3:.

I'm going to colour in the lettering on the plastic cap as I've seen this done on Roobarb's car and is a nice little touch.

Bought these off Baz, they are actually Tein pillow tension rods, the green paint on them was flaking away so I thought why not get them done !! I have bought some Tein decals to be put on when these get fitted.

These were just chrome painted from a rattle can but of course the finish isn't there and certainly didn't match the other chrome pipes........they do now !!!! Flanges are of course for my Blitz BOV's which have a polished finish anyway.

And then the strut bar itself, these were only ever available in blue or silver but I think this might look ok once fitted :tongue_smilie:.

Yes Steve, I am a little aroused you think of me in an evening !! I do know how about those indicators as my friend Ian Greenfield as a pair but I have no plans to fit one myself .

I will put up some arty shots of all these fitted, just needing now plenum, balance bar and rocker covers doing to match...please just bear with me but it'll all be done in say 12 weeks.

Lee Dent sent me up this S4 stuff and yesterday I was wire brushing, jet washing and just generally getting these in a better state for their next stage, done even more on the rocker covers today and now have these ready to be sent to the powder coaters, think I might go with a glossy red colour on them, was thinking of polishing but there are just too many nooks and crannies, then there is the upkeep :crying:.

The plenum will be flattened down and gunmetal powder coated.

^^ that's what I want to do to mine eventually! 96+ fannymould, polished and powercoated shadow-chrome, same for the throttle housings and some nice Infiniti J30 throttle covers....in the same finish.

Think I read somewhere that the plenum can be done in a day !! Well I keep going back to mine and had another couple of hours on it today with my new best friends the angle grinder with 80, 120 and 240 orbital sanding discs and the dremel which I keep loading up with the small 80 grit drums for the crannies.

It's coming along nicely and I realize it's all gonna be in the prep for that perfect finish, going to go through with the papers by hand and have it at the polished finish stage in a day or so :cool3:.
