"Simply Japanese" - Beaulieu Motor Museum - Joint southern area meet

Simply Japanese - 3 August 2014

-

Joint South West / South Central / South East event!

Following the success of the Haynes Motor Museum meet that I managed to organise in a week and last year's Beaulieu meet, Steve (z32bolt), Howard (bigh), Terry and myself are organising what could be one of the biggest southern meets the club has seen for many years for the summer of this year! This is aimed at the South West, South Central and South East regions, but of course, this is open to EVERYONE and we'd love to see as many attend as possible!

Beaulieu Motor Museum is holding its yearly 'Simply Japanese' meet again this year - Steve did do something similar last year and got a good number there, some 30 cars - due to the anniversaries of the Z32 (25 years) and the S30 (45 years) we want to make this a joint region and multi club event and get the numbers up further!

Other than than Japfest at CC, we really don't have much going on south of the M4 in terms of large meets. This will be a great event if you're visiting solo, with another half, or with family!

We will be attending this show as 300zx.co.uk, but also hope to have support, as we often do, from the UK Zclub, 350 and 370 owners club. I have spoken with the event organiser and have arranged that we will have our own 'Z' stand, in addition, Gary is also supplying us with a new club banner. I am also proposing that we try and get some sort of blurb into one of the classic car magazines too!

There is a cost, but it's very small. £10 per person, or £5 for children. TBH, that's the same price as a pub meal!

Beaulieu is a great venue, the area around it is stunning, being in the New Forest, the museum itself is fantastic and there's plenty to do there for everyone - in essence, a great day out for all. I understand you get access to the Abbey, the museum and there are events for kids to do, birds of prey on display etc. If possible, later on down the line, I may try to get a pro-photographer along (my neighbour in actual fact) for those of you before the show who want to get some really good hi-res images of your cars - there may be a small cost to this also.

Some photos of the Haynes meet.

Here also are some photos from last year's Simply Japanese event.

Here's a snapshop of the site with attractions for those that have never been before - it's vast!

We aim to have various convoys to meet up at a pre-determined venue before a cruise to the event, I will post this live on other Z forums over the coming months.

Hope to see you there! Please add your names to the local events section which myself, Steve, Terry and Howard will be managing and eventually they'll find their way onto here!

Jimmer and I will of course be coming down from the South West area, along with Steve and Howard's region and also Terry's region.

We'd love to build this event to over 40 cars as there were 30 last year! The aim would be to hit 45, the milestone of the 240z! It would be epic to make it the biggest turnout of any of the other clubs - this thread is up early to give members enough notice! :)

Have a look on the Beaulieu website, it will give you an idea and cast your eye over the map in the first post. It is a 'family friendly' type of place, so there'll be something for your son.

Pretty sure it's pay on the day, Steve will confirm.

Last year you were able to pay in advance through their website or pay on the gate, I believe there was a slight reduction if in advance.

Last years prices where;

Adults £10

Children £5

Advance booking saving 10%

It's normally around double these prices for entry.

Email from Caroline -

Hi Simon,

Thanks for your email and that’s great – looking forward to it.

Yes if you can keep me up to date between now and then it would be helpful. Costs are £10 per person and £5 per child which will be taken at the gate on the day or alternatively members can book online http://www.beaulieu.co.uk or over the phone 01590 612888 (if purchasing on the phone there will be a £1 handling fee but this doesn’t apply online). We will reserve a section of one of the grass areas that surround the main arena for you (map attached).

If you have any other questions please do let me know.

Kind Regards,

Caroline

Thanks for reminding me - I hope to make it also; and have abused my admin powers by already adding myself to the list in Si's post.....

It looks a great day; and thanks to Si & co for organising it!

Do we have any preference for area? I can use my charm to see about selecting an prefered area. I can ask about getting a pitch adjacent to a walkway.

The area we had last year had the bank for us to pop the cars on and use as a sitting area, ad the front of it is the tree lined main prominard.

It does look like a good spot and places to put various club banners too! I've just put this up on zclub.net too - http://zclub.net/forum/showthread.php?p=207880#post207880 , so hopefully we'll get some other chassis types along, which would be great. Already we have 24 cars, that's damn good!

This is looking good Si and hopefully with Zclub attending the numbers will go up :thumbup1: Added some support on your Zclub thread good luck mate.
