Right then guys, nice easy one. Can you tell if this zed is a long wheel base or a short wheel base. The answer is actually very obvious for those in the know, but for the newbies please don't spoil it. we can reveal the answer tomorrow once they have had a stab at it.

Just a random z32 from google images. Feel free to add more examples, but make sure you know 100% which one it is before you post your tester pic. Hence the reason I piced this pic, no cheating fuel filler flap shot and another tale tale that makes us 100% ok here we go.......

can barely see it properly plus the photo looks stretched. id say LWB though as it doesnt have rear mud guards :)

LWB because I'm sure uk spec Z32 were LWB but could be wrong

But maybe someone just swapped the front bumper lol

Without question a LWB as it's a eurpean specifcation Z32.

 What has 'having no rear mud guards' got to do with it!?!?!?! lol

As above euro spec car, headlamp washers smoked indicator dummies and side light/indicator in the fog location. All euros are Lwb as pointed out. Anyone care to post up a harder one?

Other smaller differences - minor flair to the leading edge of the rear bumper (can't really see from this angle, but it's there), blue tint glass, wider rear wheels (distinguishable from JDM cars), indicators on the wings (distinguishable from North American variants), number plate holder - only fitted to Euro versons and lastly (can't really see from this photo) only Euro versions had the wind deflector on the drivers side windscreen wiper.

........there is one anomaly however - appears to have an early USDM nose panel or they've smoothed it. Only 90 model USDM Z32s had a badgeless nose panel. ALL Euro cars and 91+ USDM cars had the Nissan hamburger logo, Canadian and Australiasian spec cars too. JDM cars all had the 'Z' badge.

Canadian cars came with headlight washers too. Aus and NZ native cars were all NA 2+2 and visually, shared a lot of similarities to the Euro models, so came with Euro rear bumper, wing indicators, dummy smoked front corner indicators and the Euro style number plate holder.

Forgot about that subtle flair, although it doesn't seem to be consistant. Some don't seem to have it, carmad was discussing it a while back.

Hrm, maybe it was that some Jspec have it as well can't remember now. Were going back a year or two.

Nope, only Euro and Aus/NZ cars had that.

There are actually differences between USDM and JDM rear bumpers, despite their apparent identicalness.:) Hardly anyone knows about them.

As a guess to compliment the wider rears?

No, because NA didn't have wider rears. JDM cars have a large triangular cutout behind the number plate allowing a bracket go be slotted through. If your number plate isn't wide enough, you'll see the cutout. USDM cars have no rear licence plate bracket and also had no cut-out as licence plates are screwed directly into the bumper.

I've seen it as my plate is angled slightly. So you can see it if you get on your hands and knees to look.

I've obviously been looking at zeds for too long, I can tell the difference by the roof line and the size of the rear 1/4 behind the doors!

I've seen SWB variants with uk spec style bumper and light setup, so that is not always a given. I think the hardest angle to decipher is the front, even though the SWB is narrower and lower as standard in its dimensions! The rear view can be distinguished by the wider rear screen and exhaust exit position being closer together on the SWB.
