Richard Smith will remember the day we took my car out for a test drive all those years ago and obliterated a 3000GT. Most fun.

Yup - I remember it well...... And then the GTO started to smoke like an old steam engine after trying to keep up....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

My mate raced one up the strip at Santa pod in a standard Nissan 200sx 1.8 turbo and beat it hands down the gto owner couldn't believe it .

There was an old vid of someone here (in an auto TT) racing a GTO at the Pod - and trouncing it.....

....I forget his name now (it was a while ago) but he used to sell the grounding kits. Pete something-or-other maybe??

Richard:biggrin:

Enjoy...

That's the one fellas.......

Sure there not na's the vid said under 14secs for the vr4?

It could have been an NA in Pete Shrimp's video - but in UK road tests the 3000gt was eclipsed by the 300zx (naturally, both UK spec TT cars) in pretty much every speed range; 0-60, 0-100, 30-70 (all mph) and standing quarter. In fact in the 0-100 sprint, the UK spec 3000gt could not break 16 seconds..... Which is why I did not buy one back in 2003, as my old Mk3 Supra could have matched the 3000gt!!!

In the vid it couldn't even get in the garage under its own steam lol

It took people to push its planetary geared assign to the garage as well!

How you finding it daz?
