Looks like that car has had some sort of a knock maybe on the n/s the rear bumper doesn't line up with the curve of the arch and the wheel looks to far forward. Then look at the other side it looks spot on.

It looks ok, I always worry with uk cars about rust

Maybe mate - but truth is, not many Zeds have come across from Japan in recent years, so many imports have spent quite a few years on British roads themselves now.....

.....Hence buying a J-spec car is taking almost the same gamble as buying a UK in the rust stakes...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

So true, mines a fairly recent import 2004 but that still meas it's been here in England for nearly 10 years!

I think it has to be said, a lot of ridiculous over valuations occur with these cars. Especially when you consider how much I sold my 95 Slicktop for.

That's delightfully positive.

Agree, fair enough the good solid well maintained ones are worth that bit extra, but I think too many people buy these kind of cars and don't consider maintenance costs! They get poorly modified and people still advertise them for stupid money! And too many are being broken up in my opinion now, I plan too keep my next zed as long as possible and keep her well looked after.

When I bought my first 300 I did the opposite to you, I bought a rat and saved it from certain death. Paid very little and ended up with a gem after a few grand in expenses. Had it sorted mechanically and then had body issues sorted out. Best to avoid any mods as you quite rightly said especially those with sideskirts because you will only find out what lies behind them if you pull them off!

All the very nice 300s money can buy are not available at the moment. You can see them in the COTY poll!

Yeah it's me mate! How's things? That zed looks pretty amazing! What's the bill so far? Lol. I'm going to look at a new zed tomorrow in Manchester, I got the urge for another one. Never stopped regretting selling my old one.

You got any kids or anything yet? Paul joiner has been telling me about your zed and what you been doing to it.

We should catchup at some point so I can check out your handy work on the car!

I'm good thanks mate it's been a while hasn't it! A lot has changed over the years for me no doubt the same for you.

Im living in Stanford le hope now you're welcome to pop round any time.

The Zed well that's been a 6 year unplanned project thats revolved though many specs over the years. Its an expensive learning curve owning a Zed as you already know from when you had you're gem all those years ago. The car is pretty much all back together now after I stripped the car to a bare shell 6 years ago.

Ive learnt a lot over the year's of the restoration build. I wouldn't want to tally up the costs mate I just know its not cheap!

Hopefully it will be all worth it soon.

Ive not updated my build list in a long while but I guess that gives you an idea of what I have been up to in my spare time!

Hopefully you find a nice Zed soon would be nice to see another around town :)

Are you on Facebook? If not get joiner to pass my number on if you want to pop round for a chat etc.

Good luck in the quest for the Zed!

Don't do Facebook mate! Things have changed a bit I got a mortgage now a 2 year old boy and a girl born last week, I'm still on the spanners, mot tester now too. Will get your number off joiner mate, be nice to catch up, leaving at 4am tomorrow for Manchester to view a zed! Fingers crossed she's a nice one.

Have you seen this? £2850..popped up on facebook 300zx owners web page.

Looks clean and has some nice upgrades. Interior bits are an easy fix I may have some parts handy too.

Yeah saw that one, its an option if this one in Manchester is a no go. It's an auto so might be doing a manual conversion soon!

Shame I just sold my spare manual gearbox when I moved out of the unit. I may have a few other bits still to help with the conversion
