Kudos goes to Medallionman for an amazing guide he sent to me without request to my email address.

I now hate Butyl/Tar and it's the worst stuff I've ever worked with.

Got through it though and got most of it off the car.

Here is how far I've gotten so far...

The heating for 5 mins didn't work for me.

I went for a bake of around 7mins in the oven itself.

The lights glided apart like butter.

No marks on the lenses and no cracks etc.

Well happy.

Watch this space on the mod I'll be doing.

I was rear ended by a Peugeot about 6 years ago maybe longer. It wrote her car off, mine was fine, the insurance chap turned up looked the car over from the outside for about a minute and that was it he was happy. No intense looking or even looking over just a quick yup.

Look great ant, looks like your garage is a squeeze too I have to climb out the bloody roof lol...

I likey those. Just gotta get that black strip on the top half to mirror the curve on the bottom half. :D

Ant id say if i may if i was to be really picky , the bottom spread of defused light looks great with what ever u used but the top ,if i may u must of have used the norm red defuser thingy for the top ,id say see if you can get the same stuff that u used in the bottom clear with orange lights or clear lens at top with the red lights , u know what i mean do the same uptop as u done down the bottom. that said good job and love the bootom defuser

Thanks for the interest.

I would of loved to of done the tops in the red but I think that would of been a bit too illegal and the LED strips looked really tacky butted up right against the frosted.

I did get away with it for the inidicators however as they light top down.

I couldn't hit the brake light for obvious reasons but it is around 25% brighter than the top strips.

My car is loud, It's Japspeed divorced downpipes into an SS Billet 2.5" test pipes (no H or X mixer) and full decat (tailpipe also SS Billet).... I need my exhaust tailpipes levelled up with each other on the rear however. ***It was MarkyB's old twin exits***

Not much more to do now but something for 2014.

I am fussy and chose the tail-end on the boot to rid the black strip... (sorry).

I hate my garage, but only one the council had in my area... A piece of cardboard is up the wall on the drivers side to stop my door whacking the wall lol.

Hope you all had a nice xmas and new year.

Lol horses for corses. What's the back boxes then? Short of the lack of a x pipe it's very similar to mine on paper.

SS Billet or Bullet.... Can't remember but that is what was stamped on the tail-ends when I bought them.

Just updated the last post saying they were MarkyB's if you know who he is?

He maybe able to clarify more?

I think there's too much thought going in to the insurance side of it. At the end of the day, if yOure rear ended it would be the other persons fault, simple as that really in the eyes of the insurance. So there'd be no need for the insurance company to come and investigate your light - especially if you have an MOT. I've worked in insurance for years and haven't seen them be that picky on anything unless there were none disclosures. I would however suggest they're aware you've made amendments.

P.S. good work there mate

All bulbs are now LED.

I had the fast flashing problem and didn't think it would affect me as at least one set of flashers per side had one proper bulb (on the front corner indicators)...

These are now LED also.

I also got over the fast flashing with a hybrid relay... Instead of buying inline 50ohm load resistors (that get hot!) and hacking into wiring as well.

This is the link on eBay and is a direct replacement without modification to your current relay circuit and plugs straight into the three spade socket.

Here is the link:

Hope that helps everybody.

I hope you didn't pay 96.99 for that unit.. you can get that plug and play for about £3 (see one of phut's posts)...

Hi Bud.

It should work?

I'm still waiting in some parts so it can't be wired in yet :(

As requested by Phutumsch....

These have been cut down to size and duplicated so they go opposite ways behind the 300zx rear centre panel...

It's going to be my reverse light.

The fog and reverse are being converted to red LED fogs (so the original reverse will become another fog)
