The only reason I was potentially looking for a uk rear end is I was hoping to pick up the uprated anti roll bar in the process.

Yes gaz mate you gotta pop round, ive gotta get the place a bit sorted while im off over Christmas, the zed is getting damp atm, not the best. Soon solve that though.

Jaffa pm on its way to you.

Mines currently SORN too..... which I guess is why I've not been round the forum much of late

My MOT ran out and seeing as I still don't have the new turbos quite fitted (need some new actuators which are now on order), though on a positive note the shiny new Zeta-R coilovers are fitted and just need setting up.... and then my Tax ran out I didn't have a lot of choice LOL!

I will get there soon though

One interesting thing came to light when fitting the new suspension.... both my rear spring were broken at the top and appear to have been in that condition for quite a long time (maybe a couple years or more) yet the car MOTed OK previously. Apparently because the breaks were at the top (which is unusual?) the fault could not be spotted until the old ones came off. So with my old 'shocks' came a bit of a shock!

I do remember JeffTT telling me there was something odd and not quite right about the handling of my car when I first got it over two years ago.... though the handling was vastly improved when Zedworld fitted some new steerring arms and various suspension bushes and wheel bearings for me. Yet it has never felt quite as positive or pleasant to handle when compared to my old blue Zed.

Maybe that is why?

It's very common mate, not stations are seeing more and more cracked/snapped springs apparently it goes hand in hand with the mountainous speed humps appearing.

Il be getting Meisters myself, my bilstiens just arn't low enough for me for they will be going up for sale after Christmas.

I have heard this also - plus the increasing number of pot-holed roads we have to drive over does not help either.......

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

THIS!

BBC News ran a report on it. I won't take my car to Gloucestershire for that reason! Worst roads EVER! lol

I was in East Sussex today the roads were like black glass, really nice.

I have just returned from a weekend in York - and I have always thought that the standard of driving in North Yorks is probably the best in the country; but now I also believe they have the best maintained roads as well.......

Try Buckinghamshire as well Si.... Despite generally being one of the most affluent areas of the country, the roads are shite here!!!

You always expect the home-counties to be better! Oxfordshire's not too bad. Driving is generally that pleasant in the UK; if it's not the pot holed roads, if it's not that, it's the congestion. Looking forward to next summer for some more continental and US driving in Z cars! :)

The UK weather and road conditions mean I hardly get to drive the Zed, just SORN's my car as well.

Covered about 3000 miles in 3 years, and that makes me sad!

Hopefully next year we get some good weather and the councils get the potholes filled.

Wishful thinking?

Not sure what it was like in the arctic, but down here in the tropics we had a long, warm and dry summer this year. Last year I barely did 500 miles in it, this year I did about 3k. :)

I did a fair few miles compared to the previous year myself, hopefully more this summer. If you wait for the right conditions you will never use it. Down here it's either raining, or sunny when the summer sun is out and I mean peeking half the damn country come flooding in like a plague.

Sun equals traffic jams round here.

Most of my zeding is done early or late in the summer months, cuts down on traffic. Right now though my work can is so dirty after two days the side windows are smeary and after a week its absolutely disgusting with salt and field mud and cow shit and you name it. There was an actually tide mark on it last week. Looked like it had been dipped in chocolate. So the zed is staying firmy tucked up till march.

Absolutely! No point in putting it on the roads at this time of the year, you're putting the car at higher risk as the roads are really slippery and then you may as well be pouring sodium bicarbonate all over it mixed with gravel! lol

I am putting winter tyres on my DD today.

Glad mine is in the garage as 70mph winds here in Belfast and a lot more in Scotland. Woke up this morning with the noise of the roof slates rattleing above me :scared: But the zed is taxed this Winter for any sunny days.:cool3:

The wind in Edinburgh this morning was horrendous though driving to uni in a Z32 was so much better than the journeys in my old slab-sided fiat. Left at the right time though; about 10 mins after I left a load of trees came down on the route I'd just taken and took out a few cars.

Or Sodium Chloride......

I have actually thought about buying winter tyres for the DD this year myself - but gave up when hardly anywhere had the right size for the rear. I don't se why, 245/35/18 is not an uncommon size...???
