today has been a very bad day as the z has been involved in a crash.

luckily no one else involved, but just bad circumstance road conditions for a rear wheel drive car.

Police have recovered it and its 100% a complete write off.

So my zx days are done.

have got some spare parts that if anyone needs them they are free to collect as wont be needing them anymore.

Also happily noone been hurt not even so much as a scratch.

Not got any pics tho before anyone asks for them, lol.

just a bad day overall.

I remember mine whipping round on me causing my front end to end up in the inside lane infrint if a lorry, somehow luck I guess the car straightened out. Blink of an eye, the lorry driver probably shit himself as much as I did. They're unpredictable cars at times.

The main thing is though your ok and no one else was involved. They do seem to look after the passenger well.

There is never a good time to loose your car, but life is more important, still hurts though!!

Oh and on a light note lets see how long before this..........................

thanks again.

Looks like there could be a huge problem as the insurance company have said that my z was already declared a insurance write off in 1995(10yrs before i got it)which i knew nothing about at all.

surely that should of flagged up on the systems before when i took out the insurance.

so looks like i could be fooked in hoping for anything back at all.

Don't think it comes up on the insurance. The only time they check is when you claim cus they wana find something so they don't have to pay out. Should've said on the log book though.

5hit Dave , sorry to hear about this bud , i know you had more plans for the old girl so it,s such a shame to see another one go to Z heaven !!

At least your ok though bud , that,s more important than any car !

Crappy news, all of this! :(

Glad to hear you're unhurt though - that's the main thing. And hopefully the insurance will pay out too.

where should it say on log book as i cant see anything.

It Normally says on the front, where it says about it being registered overseas (if it is an import). It should say 'substantially repaired'. But not sure if this is only when the insurance pays to fix it, I had it on my other car.

theres nothing on mine.

There's no other way you could've known then. I hope you get it sorted.

A VIC marker is only shown on a V5 if it is Cat A, B or C.

Cat D isn't required to be shown on a V5.

A HPI check is the only way to find out.

if i can get it back then yes mate you can have first refusal on them parts.

Really sorry to hear the bad news Dave :( hope you're ok mate, and fingers crossed that you get something back from it.

Really sorry to see this buddy, a very sad day indeed, but as others have said it could have been so much worse with injury.

Bugger Dave!-what you like??

Good to know your O.K tho' bud.

As for it being a previous write off that shouldn't affect your insurance at all, might be valued lower but that's it............

Im on my 3rd....

First one was a black. JDM TT auto... had some good memories in that. mainly trying to get my daughter in and out the car car seat.. which had to go in the front. had to take the T Top of as couldnt open the door lol..

Second was the Yellow/lime JDM TT again auto.... spend countless £££££ and about 2 years.. just as i was getting it finished it was stolen.. the Club rallied together and i managed to repair the damaged that was done (  ) but life through in another spanner and had to sell it..... i think id only driven it about 200 miles in the whole time of owner ship... that was a sad day...

now im on my 3rd.. another JDM TT but a manual this time.. fingers crossed everything goes to plan.

As said.. you do loose heart in it all.. i know i did, and spent about 4 years away from the scene.. but here i am again... again with the bug and determined to get this one finished and keep her lol....

My little expression which is really just an excuse for all the stuff I waste money on is "you've got to enjoy yourself haven't you" I know it's not exactly a quote by the dalli llama, but when my mates raise eyebrows it's what I say.

I bought my 2.8 capri in my first year in the RAF as soon as I could afford it. It was 3000 pounds then I spent nearly all my money keeping it going. The day it died, I think including buying it insuring it and everything I'd 'lost' 10 grand. I felt like a right tit. It just fell to pieces beneath me. But now I can always say that I owned my dream car. The more time passes the better I remember it and mates still talk always bout it with such a smile on their face. I got 1600 back after all that. But I cruised about in my capri setting car alarms off. Learned a lot about opposite lock and had an awesome time.

Owning a car so awesome that it throws itself off the road is better than mincing about in a daewoo matiz and telling stories about hypermile ing down the pub.

......

As above, the car is technically worth a bit less than it would be, but not to the extent that the insurance co can walk away. (unless its been a repaired catA or b and that is extremely unlikely) You might have to provide an engineer's report to prove to them that it was well repaired and in sound condition, but insurance companies have been taking premiums on your car from you and prev owners since it was previously repaired....

Hope you get a bit of good news from them

had a call today and they are bringing car back to mine.

I dont know how they are gonna get a low loader onto my drive tho as access is very tight.

will have to drag it from the road down the driveway and into the garage as the wheels are smashed so cant roll.
