...currently have a VX220 and previously had a 350z, VX is currently up for sale and considering my next purchase options - thinking about a 300zx!

Thanks Gary, just having a good read through all the material at the moment. Didnt realise there were so many iterations of the car.

Had the VX220 up for sale for a week now and had a couple of nibbles, but hoping to get rid soon. I went to a 350z meet today and have got the Zed itch back, but with a 22 month old who more and more wants to do things with daddy, need a seat in the back! So here I am! Just for some viewing fun, my VX and my previous Zed

Welcome to the forum mate and loving the cars, plenty of info here and knowledgeable guys, so if you have any questions just ask :thumbup1:

Haha Lexx! I was having a look on the Zed forum at some recent posts on the 300zx and decided to come investigate

Still unsure as to what to go for (and Hollowpoints comments have made me think twice!) but there is an instinctive draw to a Zed.

Lots of BS surrounding the 300 mate.

Any questions just yell out.

I have loads of links to various Buying advice, tech advice, model differences etc etc.

Basically you need LWB if you want back seats. you can have them in UK TT model, or JDM NA or TT.

Budget will be a factor on condition and age if car you are after.

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

Oh, and if you want a drive out in a Zed, you're only 40 mins away and I'm sure I could arrange a meet in Richmond and get a few different varieties of 300 there for you to have a look around.

Richmond>Surrey mate!

Yeah I am just doing a lot of reading on the subject at the moment, so any links would be good (had a read through the buyers guide on here briefly last night).

Budget wise, I want to stick some of the cash from the VX sale in my pocket, its hard to make a call on budget until I get some benchmarks in my head but based on 10 minutes of scanning the ads section about £3k-£4k?

Do'h!

Is should have known you weren't from my neck of the woods after years on 350z-uk. It's early, leave me alone!

I'll PM you some links on 350z-uk later today. You have to be a subscribed member here to use PM.

Going to join the big boys now :)

I've had my zed for over 7 years now and it has never missed a beat :)

I seem to have a basic idea on the cars having done a lot of reading (and not much work) today!

One thing that bothers me, and does similarly when I am looking at R33s and the like which as also on my radar is the gearbox. Given some of these are 20 year old automatics, what is the auto box like? I have always had manuals and love the theatre of using a stick, what is it like using the auto? Lazy? Does it shift well or is it 'unintelligent' and leave you struggling with no boost in higher gears at low speed or the like?

I loved my auto when I had my black 300zx TT it moved up threw the gears very quick and it was very reliable with good maintenance. But now with a manual it just feels more sportier giving you more control of when to change gears. So to be honest I love them both and if I had another zed I would love an auto again.

You will find most owners will say the manual is best as a lot of autos have failed but I think that is due to poor maintenance. As for the auto feeling lazy all I can say is in a TT it is bloody fast.

Thanks Gary, I actually have someone coming to look at the VX Friday morning so fingers crossed I will have money in the bank soon

Would be good to have a pax ride in a 300zx just to get a feel for one, if anyone is local to TW10 would appreciate it (with some beer tokens) if I could look over a TT

Cheeky little bump to the top, if anyone has a good condition, 94 or later TT LWB without lots of miles on drop me a PM. Currently looking at a few models of cars including skylines but the search is proving tougher than I thought!

Ill have a 92 TT manual up for sale in about a month.

im just about to start a refurb on her but its got a brand

new paint job done last year and when I fit the engine back

in will have just over 85,000 miles on the clock.

will be looking for about £3,000 or nearest offer in cash.

cheers
