Hi everyone,

 

After a few comments on the subject, I reckon we should try and hold a local meet at the Red Lyon in Hurley before Christmas..... Perhaps even a proper club lunch!!

 

What does everyone think; and what day should me make it for? Please register your interest below; and that includes the South Central and South East members, plus anyone else who is within reasonable driving distance of Hurley (near Henley/Maidenhead - about 10 minutes from M4 j8/9).....:cool:

Some regions (like this one) just cannot seem to generate much interest on their own. I could have pushed it a bit harder myself, perhaps, but I have not really had the time; and seeing as only 4 of us actually responded to the date poll; I did lose a bit of enthusiasm for making more effort. Sorry guys - I don't like to let folks down........

That's poop. Been years since I went to a club Christmas meal. The last one being the one in Somerset and I think we had about 15 folk along! There are various photos of that evening in circulation with large portions of cream in my mouth!

Does not seem to matter whether you push an event or not owners do not seem interested

Its a bit like Japfest2014 Been prodding, pushing, poking,begging annoying people to get them to at least to say they are interested but response on here has been dismal

Does not bode well for next year being the Z32s 25th anniversary you would have thought there would be 300zxs coming out the woodwork at all events

But yes, back to the plot, it is a real shame as it would have been good to get something going for Christmas - especially with the additional original enthusiasm from other regions such as yours...:sad:

Agree to a point. I think it all depends on a number of factors. I managed to arrange a pretty healthy gathering back in September with only a few weeks to get numbers and I think we had about 15 cars from a variety of models attend. I think spontaneity helps and also something slightly different. It does take work and some shouting from the rafters, but it can be done.

Not the case Steve...... not the case at all mate. And whilst I am appreciative of all members' input, you have seen the response I got in trying to organise a simple local meet. Rest assured that we will put in every effort to stage a successful 25th anniversary celebration, such efforts also need the support of the members by way of their attendance to make it a success.

Lots of time has past and very little has occurred, publically anyway at least. The new year is fast approaching and the show season with it, once the season kicks off it's going to be hard pushed to arrange and slot in a "25th anniversary" we all know how time flys.

Without getting on it ASAP we are in real danger of simply tagging it on as a hoorah at bloody JAE, this simply isn't suitable. I wanna see big, 25th anniversary stickers articles in the glossies etc. I'm not expecting to make these statements and sit back waiting for it to happen. I'm keen to do what I can, you know that, I have the very best intentions for the marque and this owners club.

We are on the case Steve - nothing has been declared publically yet there are still loads of issues under discussion between the committee and the NEOs/REOs. We also brought Lexx on board as another NEO, precisely because we have bigger plans for events; not just next year but beyond.

 

We are going to have a dedicated event; as none of us wants to see the anniversary celebrations tacked onto JAE, Zedfest. Japfest or any other existing event. Although naturally those events will also feature a level of anniversary celebrations as well; not just for the Z32's 25th, but 2014 is also 45 years of the Z full stop - the 240z appeared in 1969!!

 

We are also producing 25th anniversary commemorative stickers - and may even enlist the members' help by way of a design competition; but more of that later.

 

If you want to help out, it will be gladly accepted; your local REO has naturally been enlisted so far....
