Can anyone remember who the guy on ebay was that was supplying the above? wouldnt mind getting a drivers side set before i need them

As in many instances, we didnt hear back from the Loom company to become a trader, who also happened to be the same guy that Jaikai had been dealing with for his own.

Havent heard back yet fro the the clutch company who recently inquired, but he has been away in the US all week so may get a response.

Twinz product availabilty in this country already explained why in previous posts, cost of stocking all products and numbers of products too high, along with their business acumen is not appealing to any UK company.

 

You yourself have spoken to several companies and where did you get?

 

Tbh graham, no where. They sound all eger multiple emails go back and forth they say we will come and join up. At which point you never hear from them again, well I certainly don't. I don't really get it myself, do they not want to sell their products?

Well I have no idea what you guys pay for these parts in UK and I guessed these parts where readily available there.

 

As far as price over here I need to check. There are big and small companies making stuff from sheet metal. I would take this to a guy with small shop thats specialized in vehicle restoration. Last year he did both rear arches for my other car, price was little bit above 100 euro for making both arches out of sheet metal and labour to prep it for painting. I have no idea how much complicated zed arches are compared to prelude ones he did for me.

 

If that guy did it, for the right prices he could make a lot of them, but if we are talking about huge amounts (1000 pairs/shipment) thats something to big for him. I would need to ask a bigger company. In that case start price and smaller volumes would have bigger price until we reached bigger production numbers. You know how that goes. What quantities are you thinking?

 

If you want, I can get it touch with this guy, I also have rust on arches and sills and some more. I will have him look at parts he needs to make for me and will ask him for price.

 

Croatia is inside EU no extra taxes there, only shipping cost. Again the bigger the shipment the lower the cost of shipping.

Thanks for getting back to me on this i fully understand how quantity ording can be priced better but i think we need to think realistic here

the others are never going to be in the 1000's that's for sure

but i questomate an internal first order for the uk market on pending group buy and other sales could be up to 50 units

if we are looking at 100 euros for a pair of arches ... plus shipping .. may be but will need to get the price down a little

 

we will all so need a sample as i know of a few problems with other non OE metal parts for the 300z

Thats the problem bud, i have had so many emails and sent some and get a good initial interest, but so far only a few have been forthcoming. When i mentioned in a previous thread that we are working on something, we still are and hopefully attract some good companies.

however, we can have a list as long as your arm of traders, but we, the members need to support our traders, by using them and giving them business to progress.

Always open to new ideas though, so dont give up :thumbup:

I had the arches in the club think £50 for both sides and no body wanted them.

Sad but true, I'm afraid.....

 

.....And from a club perspective, we would not be prepared to have a batch of parts made and simply keep them in stock; on the off chance that some members might buy one or two a year between them. This kind of thing has been done before by other car clubs and it failed miserably. The best we can hope for is a trader on board who can supply the rare parts to order - or at least have a contact within the club who can supply as demand dictates.

 

And as I say, if the demand is not high (which it won't be) - then we must not be disappointed by higher prices and extended delivery times.

Right guys Only just seen this thread, now I've got replacement rear sills both sides and replacement arches, next week I'm going to go round some companies and see if they can replicate these and see how much it will cost to make a few of them, if that any good to you guys

Some real progress has been made here guys, which may lead to an easier road for many.
