Hi All,

You may remember my thread a few months ago when I joined the forum (http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?171494-Hi-from-Berkshire!) , when I was looking for a decent TT.

This weekend I drove a few hours across to Wales to meet up with Dean (Sir Charles) and pick up a Slicktop that needs no introduction on the forum.

The car is a credit to him, and its former owners and I hope to keep it just as fresh and tidy and keep adding to the spec list. Dean is a fantastic bloke, genuine and friendly and I would not hesitate to do business with him again.

This is my first 300, but I have previously owned S14a and S12 Nissans, a X308 XJR 4.0 S/C Jag among various other interesting cars - I must say the Z is the snappiest and most direct of all of them which is just as I had hoped.

I am going to start a log of anything I do to the car, but wondered where would be best ("Z Related G/D" or members only "Journal") as I can see similar threads in both! Only things I have done so far are modify the fuel tank, by emptying it :D and disconnect the lit up "300zx" on the rear, having already been warned for "displaying non permitted light colour from the rear of the car", wasn't its greatest fan anyway :)

Regards,

Simon

Sounds like it could be a deal to me. I notice you are in Bournemouth, my girlfriend lives in Poole and I will be coming down the weekend after next, could pop by and do a swap. I will get some pictures of it up for you.

If you do end up in bmth then il pop round with mine aswel, I only live a few streets away for hellraiser. Always fancied a look at that car.

 :blushing:

I do miss this car at times! I'm sure Dean will have given all the info you need but if there is anything you want to know give me a shout. I have loads of pictures of the respray etc.

The reason it feels so direct is from when I had it corner weighted and the suspension set up properly just made such a difference to it!

Take it to noz for a remap I'd love to know what she would produce! Dean thank you for looking after my baby, Simon congratulations on the purchase and I hope she gives you as much pleasure as she did to me.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys!

Lovely looking car, take care of her and please don't crash her :crying:

Just saw the thread about your old car man, must be a horrible thing to have to see.

I am taking it nice and slow myself and trying to learn the car gradually and get to know it - to do my best to avoid such a situation. Every day since I picked the slicktop up has been solid rain, even though I have driven higher powered RWD cars, the short wheelbase of the Z and its relentless torquey engine is quite an education. Fantasticly "alive" feeling cars though, very impressed.

Yes be very careful the can get quite twitchy!!

Never experienced a car that snaps back so fast and hard! Makes the S14a 200SX feel like a kids toy.

First thing I did was take her down the largest bit of waste concrete/tarmac I know, in the pouring rain, and get used to how it behaves. I will probably book myself on a Car Limits day too.

Simon sorry I can't reply as not subbed at the moment, email me at ......com and ill email you back!

Hi Chris,
