So back on July 1st we made public here our intention to retire to Portugal and the sale of Zedworld, the sale had been in the planning stage since Feb/ March after agreeing a price with the to be then new owner.

However after a month had past I again posted but this time to inform that a delay had occurred.

So here I am again but now I am not so happy..in fact I am absolutely furious with the way both Lynda and myself have been treated though out this deal with promise after promise always broken and never followed through, we have been lied to on a regular basis, the deception is the worse bit to bear, I always try and see the best in people and have paid heavily for this in wasted time, anguish and stress, more over we have lost a substantial lot of money on a property deposit in Portugal all because the constant assurance from them that the funds would be next week, next, month next frigging never!!

 

Why would do people do this? why go so far into a deal that that the seller (us ) has made life changing plans and business changes that are very hard to reverse and keep hanging us out on the ever decreasing glimmer that the money was going to be forthcoming??

 

I could rant on about this for hours with the impact on mine and Lynda`s lives during this period but it would not even scratch the surface, I feel so bad for Lynda, she had her hopes set on this along with mine for semi retirement this year, If these characters had not made the promises they did we would of happily continued on to a slower and easier close down over the next few years but the deal looked like a way of bringing it forward, now we have the task of informing customers, suppliers, landord, rates office and utilities of the change of plans and to get back to our normal work pattern.....

 

So I guess it leaves me to just say.....

The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune and all that - it's what we all have to face from time to time; and I too am currently trudging through an "event" brought down on me by the hand of fate (which I would gladly tear off and shove up "his" arse right now). But hard as it is, it's always best to look forward; instead of backwards into the abyss of bitterness - if only for your own day to day well being.....

I've put my comment for Jeff over the other side and spoken to him several times to let him know how we feel about things but to hear you're going through it as well only leaves one thing for me to say..... ONWARDS and UPWARDS.... Life's to short for anything else

Jeff i can grasp your bitterness over this fiasco as myself was faced with the same senerio in 1999....Easy for me to advise sitting here but financial and mental healing comes a lot sooner if you stop looking behind and march forward bud. You have a fantastic biusness that you have built up and its this baby you need to channel your emotions too now and become even bigger and better plus a lot wiser;) Plenty of time to retire after you have made some more money so get your spanners back in the chests and good luck for the future.....

 

Rest on the notion that Hummers are complete horse shit!! Good luck to the turnip. Sounds like one of these types that gets bored easily. He'll lose money on what is quite litterally a crap car. So you have the last laugh....as much as it doesn't feel like it right now. As others have said; moving on! :)

I'm sorry to hear these developments Jeff, especially as you were looking forward to spending some time in the sun!

 

Its already all been said but I will add my encouragement and well wishes that you can get everything back up to usual speed in no time. The community wouldn't be the same without you! Besides, be another year or so before I'll end up buying another one and I'm not sure who else I could trust so you better still be around by that time! :)

Just solidifies to me never ever to trust an estate agent.

 

Sounds like the intention was to drill the deal in to get the business for free with 100% shares and clamp it into a pay as you go while someone else does all the work. Not a nice creature to cross paths with.

 

Hope you get clear of the saga real quick!

I tend to agree with Allan, wen I first read the news that it was ring sold to new ownership, my first thought was 'that's Zedworld gone then!'.
