Sealing sensors

When you replace the fuel temp, water temp sensors etc. what do you use to seal them in, RTV or plumbers tape?

Any idea what size the throttle position sensors screws are, i've misplaced mine and need to replace them quickly?

As the sensors need to be earthed through their threads using any sealant may cause them to not function, they have tapered threads so they seal anyway, and the fuel temp sensor is fitted to a closed section so nothing to leak out anyhow.
