hi ,i finally at the grand old age of fifty:w00t:

have just purchased my first zx 300 t/turbo runs sweet but at anything under 60 mph the exhaust is deafening

i know i am a old fart but i do like a nice noise but this is too much . is there a simple answer maybe a aftermarket center box section or are there a less agressive back boxes PLEASE help any info welcome:excl:

When i want to make my exhaust not so loud, i just buy this on eBay and weld them as a middle silencers. Works very good for me :) .

 

 

 

well here she is ,def got scorpian LOUD boxes on

day two of ownership another problem .....filled up with juice came out it to see was hissing out of where the fill tube goes into the tank (tank been replaced )

so i guess they did not replace the gasket and since i am moving tomorrow everything is packed away so all i could do is put a can under ,did stop after the first 4 ltrs or so .

looking at the gap to work in think it might be a garage lift job .

i hope this sorts it petrol is dear enough already

once she is okay would be good to meet up down swansea way

that looks like a car from round my neck of the woods, belonged to D&G sign makers, if so that could well be my old scorpion exhaust on there, it was very loud and i loved it

ive got scorpion on mine and i dont think its loud att all until you open it then sounds lovely , if you want to here a loud exhast then ask Baz if hell record his .thats loud made my scorpion sim really quite. good luck with the tank. when i first got mine i couldnt put any more fuel in than twenty quid cas my feed pipe was rotten. sorted now. andy car parts on here will be able to supply dont go to dealer there a fortune.

I like loud..thats why i have a Kakimoto single exit. Oh and ime nearly 53:clown:

well all i own is in the back of a 7.5 tonner ,with my sad baby still on the lawn should have my bro over before weekend to sort leak fiddely but i think it's the gasket rather than a perished pipe

As for the exhaust sound, many aftermarket jobbies (including the Mongoose) do seem to make their presence more "noticable" at around 2000rpm (or 50-60mph); but they are not so intrusive at other speeds. But if it has been de-catted, you can always refit the cats or have small center silencers fabricated in; although that might actually cost you more than a replacement system! Especially as you could sell the Scorpion to part fund it.
