although it still drives the tubbies have gone.

the detting i had has turned out to be turbo stalling out and has what seems to be a massive lack of power under boost.

so now its a big decision time,

1 repair

2 sell as is

3 break it

its gonna be a while before i could repair as ive had to have alot of time of this year due to bad health.

its running , but with the intermittent cylinder when turning left.

im gonna order some new injector connectors and hopefully dependent on how much noz charges take it to be mapped properly

sounds like a broken wire in the loom as the only thing that will move when turning is the engine its self in turn moving the Main part of the loom

oh and the wires leading to the Cas/ptu unit on front

its a big possibility is that. i hate electrical problems, lol.

may after see if theres anyone breaking a zx with a good loom as new ones are stupidly expensive.

Have you looked at the group buy going on? They are expensive but a good investment for the long term.

didnt know there was one.

its so worth it mate as it rules out the possibility of it being harness related.

i would love to get one but £300+ just isnt a ootion for me at the minute. had too much time on sick and now having to pay the price for it.

Hi Dave, just bought a set of both the injector and the coil pack connectors from that guy on ebay... say's he will combine postage.... worked out about £53 for both sets....

Hopefully I can re wire my loom in the next month or so then.....

Have you tried flexing the loom to see if you can replicate the problem?

And get some switch cleaner spray from maplins or electronic suppliers and a fibreglass pen and clean up the connectors just to be sure they are okay....

i had a look on that sellers other items and it says no more items found, you must of got the last set of coilpack connectors.

i can drop the cylinder by moving the wire and can see the plug moving.

hoping its just that one thats causing the current problem. But with 23yr old looms its a crack shoot as to if everything is gonna hold.

Am definitely going to be getting them injector plugs tho.

There is a little trick you can try, it's difficult to explain. Take the connector, look at the underside the connections are like two tiny box sections, with a slit in one side. Use a small object to bend the two flats you can down a touch this will create a sort of m shape if your following me. This will provide purchase on the connections, be careful though obviously.

This is the ebay address for the coil connectors.... over 10 left it say's.... I bet he changes the postage price of £7.72 and combines postage.....lol

Ok hate to be a party pooper but you still have some issues going by that diagostic screen details, to be honest I am surprised that no one else has said anything?

Here is your pic with issues highlighted.

bad conzult screen.jpg

The two issues immediately clear is the value for the aav is to high at 62% this should be 15% and the timing at 23 btdc should be 15 btdc, also down the bottom I cannot see a closed throttle indication although that is a bit blurred so could be there but if not could be a cause of the timing issue.

thankyou jeff.

will look at that today and try to make the correct changes.

have got the timing adjusted today and adjusted the tickover with the iacv(had to screw it all the way in) whixh made no difference to the aivc aav setting of 62%.

It then started smoking its nuts off with plumes of burnt oil, took it for a drive and it all cleared up and stopped.

it does now run and boost really well, but still there is issues with the o2sensor as on consult its hardly moving from 1.2-2.6.

I have auto gauge o2 dials fitted and there are both reading in the optimal range when driving but go into the red(lean) when not on throttle.
